I'm interested to hear what people find to be the best exchanges.

Inparticularly I'm interested in exchanges with a wide array of margin pairings.

I'm in the United States so Bitfinex is sadly off limits to me.

Poloniex is ok but they don't allow bitcoin margins, only a few altcoins.

So let's hear it, anybody have exchange reccomendations?

Kraken, Poloniex, Bittrex, Gemini, Gdax, Cryptopia, Livecoin, yobit, coinexchange.io, bitstamp, where else?

Being in the US, sites that offer margin (or any Bitcoin trading services for that matter) will be increasingly off limits for you. But you can always use a VPN. Bitmex has no KYC (deposit and withdraw BTC only) and has very high leverage on their perpetual swap contract. They also offer high leverage on a few altcoins. Bitfinex is also an option through VPN as long as you deposit/withdraw cryptocurrency only. Nobody can withdraw fiat money from Bitfinex anyway, so that's irrelevant. But they offer fairly low leverage.

1Broker was a great place to trade Bitcoin CFDs up to 10x leverage, but they closed their BTC market due to inability to scale. They are launching a new service called 1Fox (supposedly this month). I think they will be open to US customers, but I'm not sure.

I would actually recommend Bitmex. They probably have the most lucrative leveraging out of all the exchanges out there but sometimes you are not trading the real thing but rather futures/derivatives which you might not want.

I would not recommend poloniex, as they have severe issues with their customer support.

You could also use Kraken, i haven't tested it out myself though.

Bitmex DOES NOT accept US clients and OP said he is from the US. Unfortunately most brokers usually decline US customers. All the exchanges I use do not admit US clients but you can find some here:

I've been using Liquid.com.

On Liquid you can enjoy trading with freedom and get the support you need with up to 25x leverage. Take full advantage of the tightest spreads around.

Fund your account and power your trades with your choice of crypto and fiat offerings, including BTC, ETH, USD, SGD, JPY and EUR.

Amazing user interface too!

Check them out here: https://www.liquid.com/margin-trading/

One expert on margin trading recommended me to long Bitcoin Cash 30x when its price was 425$. Did not believe in him when I saw the total crypto markets were in red. I missed a good chance.
He told me, chances like that come weekly, he suggested to continue long on Bitcoin Cash 5x-10x leverage even when its price is around 500$ now.
Target 1: 519$, target 2: 534, Target 3: 579$. Hold for some days or even weeks. Stop-loss at 479$ and reentrance at 461$. Good luck!

The only place that you can leverage BCC/USD now is at Bitseven. Remeber that BCC/BTC on Bitmex has another outcome.

I do not respond for any of your loss. You own your risk. Never trade with fund that you're not affordable to lose all. However, I welcome any tips or donation if you win big Smiley

Stay away from HitBTC. They are known for selective KYC scamming and there have been rumors about insolvency and fraud: https://bitcoinist.com/hitbtc-is-longest-running-fraud-investigator-claims/

For the time being I would stick with Binance for altcoin trading and Binance Futures for derivatives. If you're in the US, Kucoin may be a better option.
