While many are happy about the recent price increases , the battle is only beginning. The next year could be the most difficult in Bitcoins history as the governments of the world finally realize that they have a huge competitor.

I believe that the real fight only starts now :

1) The German finance minister recently came out with strong statements against Bitcoin
2) The fight for the global reserve currency has led to wars in the past - did we think that we'd win it that easily ? What else do governments have planned ?

I have a detailed analysis here - https://youtu.be/FMQyQ1na63U

A strong statement you say. It is not unusual to fight against what you can't control especially in the case of the government on blockchain and decentralized system. Governments have always been about revenue generation and seeing the advances in Bitcoin as it continues to gain in on value by the day, government knowing it's potential and no not how to tap revenue from it's source have no little choice than to fight it.

If we are to look on the bright side side of most of these statements, they as well aid in bitcoin publicity. Lots of persons are keen on news and statements as these and a lot of persons research and the theme while others wait on effect and when these effects aren't seen to be effective, it only means a considerable population might just join the network.

Clearly, I don't see government winning this fight or should I call it infringement of the people's free will. The fight on bitcoin is limited to a few nations especially in the developed world but then, other nations are looking to it's adoption and utilization of blockchain in the federations reserve though, warn it's citizens for the dangers that is associated with cryptos which is a step forward in the evolution of things.
Bitcoin is a network on the blockchain which is well protected and has adopted a P2P system which by passes most ways in which government would have had possible interference and makes it very difficult for any possible attack so, we as a community of bitcoin and cryptocurrency enthusiast are very much winning this fight.

just to be clear the fight has already started when Bitcoin was created and has been opened to the public.
Why do people only see's it when it shines the most?
BTC has been fighting ever since it has been created and for me it is slowly losing it's true function to give us financial freedom to be uncentralized,
But due to the public adaptation it is slowly being monitored we are forced to submit our personal information contradicts the anonymity that it has been providing before.
