As simple as that, if the IRS can prove you made a bitcoin transaction, and then prove you did not report it/pay taxes, can they just put me in jail if i am unable to fund the defense. Essentially bitcoin is not a threat to the powers that be, they got judges, concrete and steel prisons on their side.

I got..... comparatively nothing, other than a need for 3 square meals a day.

I understand bitcoin can be made anonymous, and every transaction is censor proof. However each transaction is public information. So by completeing a bitcoin transaction i am a tax evader.

Why would I want to live in this country where any minute the system can lock me up and all sorts of trumped up charges. I understand much of the world is worse, but not the whole of it, there are many countries free'er than us, so as long as I renounce my citizenship, do I own anything to the IRS?

No, if you've never sold or recieved any Bitcoin before, then you get rid of your citizenship and go to another country(Denmark, Norway FTW) and recieve and spend as much Bitcoin without it being taxed as you want to. The U.S.A is the only country I know of that now taxes Bitcoin, which is complete bullshit. But hey, there's always Litecoin right? xD

Rhetorical question: What if you got a DVD as a gift?  Then later you traded it with your friend for a different one.  The gift isn't reportable, but the trade might be.  Are you going to jail for that?

Just dont tell the irs about your transactions, change your BTC to LTC and v.v. Use fake accounts (@ coinbase, exchanges), use VPNs, and avoid criminal institutions like banks.
Or move to Europe Smiley
