On the night of February 2 to 3, 75 Ethereum 2.0 validators supported by the Staked service lost part of the ETH deposited for staking. This is reported in the blog startup.

Validators subject to penalties also lose their ability to receive rewards.

Such sanctions are applied in situations that potentially threaten the performance of the network.  They act as insurance against malicious user behavior.  Validators subject to this procedure will not be able to withdraw funds until such an opportunity appears in ETH2.

The blockchain explorer states attestation violation as the reason for slashing.

Since the launch of ETH2 phase 0 in December 2020, the number of penalized validators has reached 114. Staked has made all the necessary changes to ensure that this situation does not recur in the future.  Affected customers will be reimbursed for lost and lost ETH.

Ah got it and thank you so much

that's why there are lots of validators were getting -% APR

https://beaconcha.in/validators/leaderboard

Im still feeling doubt about when the total ethereum staked will be less than 32 ethereum caused by the sanction and do they still eligible to be included as validators?

Was the slashing justified or was it a mistake?

Well, I wish something like that was based on merit/reputation... participants with good consistent performances could be ranked high. Everyone should be able to afford to participate

When participants perform well you score them high, when they don't perform well you score them low or give them neutral score.
One of the models i'd prefer is a model based on staking of reputation and personal ID, linked together. And the reputation should be affected rather than slashing of crypto.. You can prevent people with bad reputation from getting coin reward unless maybe they start behaving honestly and performing well for certain period of time. The honest and well performing ones get ranked high, earn more and are given more responsibility
