Scammed or did I mess up my ERC20 wallet?

The other day I either got scammed/hacked or did something to my ERC20 wallet that made it inaccessible. I suspect the former, but just in case, I hope for some advice.

I made a mistake of talking online (Telegram) to a person possibly impersonating a mod from an altcoin chatroom. We were troubleshooting some staking functionality and in the process of doing so I entered (pasted in) private key / mnemonics onto a site that I thought was safe (in fact you can run it offline, which I did NOT do). I hesitate to post it here just in case this message gets flagged as a scam, but if you search 'xpub' and '[removed]' you will find it. (Please do not enter any of private keys there just in case). About an hour after doing so, I found that most of my tokens got moved to a different address, which I don't (think I) have control over. edit: note that I did not show my private key in the chat room, but I did reveal the address.


So my question is - did I get scammed (ie contents of my clipboard with the private keys get intercepted by the Telegram chat participant) or is it possible that I inadvertently altered/moved my tokens to a different address via the above site. I suspect I am dreaming thinking that I can recover them, but it is worth asking. I admit that I don't know enough about the generation of private keys from mnemonic phrases and the relationship to the public key/address.

Finally - yes, I realise that I likely did a stupid thing. And I have been in crypto for 4+ years.... sigh

Its impossible that you can't access it if you are using a non custodial wallet. Since the only needed is the private key or Mnemonics key in order to access the wallet. Cause you can't change the private key forever.

So my question is - did I get scammed (ie contents of my clipboard with the private keys get intercepted by the Telegram chat participant) or is it possible that I inadvertently altered/moved my tokens to a different address via the above site.

Most likely that you've entered your PK through a phishing site where they access your account and transfer your tokens since you said yourself that you didn't do any transaction. You must be careful when dealing with this kind of giving your valuable PK cause one wrong move to give it to a malicious site it's over already.

xpub and ? im not familiar with those names and i wouldnt know if they are a clone of the original or not but i wont definetly visit a site that im not familiar with , i even think twice and feel nervous pasting my private keys on a site that i already known and trust , how much more if a website is new to me ?

i think its not possible that a hacker gets access on your clipboard but its possible that your clipboard will be replaced .  the second reason may be possible because you arent sure if your the one that move your coins  . try to remember it again .

This is a bit confusing actually because you've said that you do already have 4 years experience into this market and know on how things works.
You should know already aboutt custodial and non-custodial ones.You do also mentioned that you entered your private key into a certain site
and thats what the reason on why your coins had been stolen.

You had been phished and thats why never ever talk to stranger specially on telegram or other messaging platforms because lots will really be mimicing out
and do their best as they can just for you to give them your keys.Always be on doubt and verification.

Move on as there's no way for you to recover those coins that had been stolen or transferred.

FYI you are getting fooled by the scammers who have been making its telegram account to be the same or similar with the mod. This is happening so many times and that scammer was giving you the phishing link to put your private key.
you will never able to recover your tokens as it has been moved by the scammers. You should never try to trust anyone on telegram. If you are feeling doubt about anything and it's better to make a thread in here.

I think the whole mistake started from you talking to the impersonator on telegram. Once you have an issue and visit the telegram group of the project in question, you are bound to be messaged by scammers and before responding to any of them, make sure the username is same with that of the admin in the group, moreover it is a common practice to know that, no admin of any group will message you first. Secondly, you are meant to know that, your private key is very important and hence you should be careful of where you import it, if you are importing it a website or whatever by the project, then make sure you get the link to the website, mobile application etc from the admin in the group, and not from any other place or person.
Lastly, I am sorry to say this, but you have been scammed because you let down your guard, therefore abandon the wallet because it has been compromised and henceforth, stop chatting with people who message you first on telegram especially when it involves solving an issue.

Telegram is a haven for scammers. Never accept or believe any PM sent by a stranger to you. If you need help, just post your problem or query in this forum. All people who genuinely want to help you will reply to you publically.

you fell for the easiest most obvious scam, i hope it didn't affect you that much, even if it did, you learned something, never and i repeat never share your private key with anyone or any website you don't trust, google the website you're about to access, try and understand if they really need your private key to do what they want to do, and as people said above, telegram is full of scammers, don't blindly trust anyone there.

Why you need to trust someone from telegram and do you really think that they came to help you? Nope! They just want to trick and make some money and this is their full time job so just take this as lesson for life and never do the same mistake again.

Mistakes like these we're common and this is the reason why there are still scammers who do lurk into these places because of those people who do easily believe into someone when they tended to be tricked out
to exposed of their wallets or able to give out access on it.This is clearly a phishing incident and you should really have that number one rule in mind that never ever trust people or anyone here on crypto because
even youre friend IRL would even try to betray you when they do know that you do have big amounts in your stash, how much more on a stranger?

People wont able to realize those mistakes until they had lost a significant amount of money. There's no way to get those coins back yet transactions are irreversible and no matter how hard
you would try off.

Don't worry it's not only you who once become a victim of Phishing site, i once hacked also because of those Shits.

You can be in Crypto for ten years and will still get scammed if you are uneducated and you easily trust strangers with their promises and you are not reading a lot on what's happening around, and the worst is you are not well educated on how to protect yourself and your coins, it's a jungle out here you never know who you can trust so always be on guard.
