Cryptocurrency were already a volatile currency which i guess a characteristics that has already been it's identification. At the moment, as i have encounter other people who has a glimpse of idea about cryptocurrency what they have told about it was, it is a volatile currency, unpredictable. I honestly do not think that it is the year of the whale, it is the year of the bulls right now, even the smallest investments are making a profit and that is a great thing. Even if you invested like 100 bucks into bitcoin at the right time you could had 500 bucks right now, if you had 100 bucks in ethereum you could had 1000+ dollars right now, and I can count some other coins as well but it basically turned profit for everyone and that is a great thing.

Whale is the rich people, that means rich people made profits and that would make sense however that would be only applicable if rich people made money and usually they do, however this time around we are looking at something much better, we are looking at everyone making profit, whales dolphins even shrimps are making money this year. Its also still possible for a new Cryptocurrency to defeat them all since that is what Polkadot did but since we are all just looking at values, I can see better investment opportunities for Ripple since its easy to buy them at a low price and it has better volatility instead of the other Cryptocurrencies. Its not stable but it would still be profitable if you can sell at the right moment.

Litecoin may surprise us since that is what DogeCoin did to us.
