As you all might be aware of the security incident that happened with faucetpay.io. They have changed all the bitcoin and other coins addresses. I was using one of their bitcoin address to earn bitcoins on www.bitcoinker.com. Now the bit coin address is not valid and I can not use it.

The bitcoinker.com does not allow to change bitcoin address as changing address shall mean all previously earned bitcoins shall be lost.

I contacted faucetpay.io but they have stated that they had no choice but to change all the addresses after the incident.

Now I have written to bitcoinker.com to allow me to transfer the coins to new address but their policy is straight forward and it is not their fault also.

What can I do in this situation.

Shouldn't faucetpay.io compensate me as I have lost whatever I had earned due to them.

Honestly I never know about faucetpay.io or any other micropayment wallet.

I find they've contradicting about information both of their statements and TOS.

Please rest assured, FaucetPay will cover the loss and no users will be affected from the hack.

However it's up to faucetpay they will compensate you or not, but sorry I think it's only little chance you will got refunded. This is the risk of using third parties website especially related with money.

in my opinion, they should but there is Nothing you can do, just like what Jawhead999 said it is up to them whether they would man up and take responsibility for the incident that caused you and other users to lose what you earned.

online72, to clarify the matter, did you use one of the FP deposit addresses as the address that served you for the faucets claims? This is never a smart option, especially when you can generate each coin address completely free of charge in a crypto wallet that is completely under your control.

In this case, the blame is definitely on you, but also on the FP who allowed them to be hacked. As for that faucet that doesn't allow you to change the address, that's their right, so take this as one of life's lessons - "not your keys, not your coins".

What is your purpose of using faucetpay?
If you want to use a wallet to receive faucet rewards from bitcoinker why not use non-custodial instead?

For me, it's better don't use faucetpay and use a wallet that you have full control of or at least a wallet that you can able to backup private keys or seeds.

Is there any relation between faucetpay and bitcoinker? They only support the faucetpay address? Probably not!. Then why you will use it as a wallet. But yeah if there is any relation between them and you can not claim bitcoinker payment without faucetpay then you can consider it to use. Otherwise I can not see any good purpose to use it anymore.

I'll be honest I'm not very familiar with the way FaucetPay operates, but if you are using their services for storing cryptocurrency, then I would recommend against that, especially since they've already blocked you from retrieving coins once. Only use wallets in which you, and only you control the private key. Otherwise, that in itself is a security risk.

Why use them if you already encounter an issues to them? there are so many wallet available where you can trust more and that faucetpay didn't been recognized by most of the users including me so better if you have doubts leave it since there are more better which can give you a better service.

Also stick with reputable site since using this kind of unreputable platform can possibly held your future balances so beware.

What is your purpose of using faucetpay?

FaucetPay is microwallet, and the point of such a service is to accumulate rewards from the faucets in one place, and once you reach a certain threshold you can make a withdrawal to your wallet. This is the only way faucets can work, because how else would you do faucet transactions to a user worth only a few satoshi?

As for the specific site (bitcoinker) i get an error when i try to access it so i can't check if they have any other payment method besides FP but i read the review on TrustPilot and people claim that faucet is SCAM.

Also stick with reputable site since using this kind of unreputable platform can possibly held your future balances so beware.

I never had a problem with FP, it worked without a problem until the hacking - and the mistake made by the OP is to use their deposit address for faucets claim, it's only his fault.

I'm not trying to take sides in here but if you had funds in a certain address "in FP" and they didn't want to cover your losses, then they would've contradicted what they've said in their incident post but that's not the case. The way I see it, it's a limitation from bitcoinker [I'm not implying they're at fault] so in other words, you have only yourself to blame for those funds.

The bitcoinker.com does not allow to change bitcoin address as changing address shall mean all previously earned bitcoins shall be lost.

Now I have written to bitcoinker.com to allow me to transfer the coins to new address but their policy is straight forward and it is not their fault also.

Quick question op before anything else, have you ever been paid by bitcoinker.com?

It's been tagged as SCAM in beermoneyforum (❌SCAM - Bitcoinker.com Reviews: SCAM or LEGIT?) and lot's were complaining in their dead twitter and facebook that they weren't paid-- mixture of fairly recent and old posts.

OP, I really don't know what you should do now. I doubt that Bitcoinker can change Bitcoin address on your account, it's not possible to do that on script that they're using.
Faucetpay also aren't obligated to compensate your losses. Because it was your fault that you used not your own, but FaucetPay deposit address.

I think you're not very familiar how faucets works. Faucets are paying very little amount of coins, something like 1-2 Satoshi. So, it's impossible to receive coins directly to your non-custodial wallet. People have no other choice than using microwallets to collect coins until they will reach treshold to withdraw funds.
Though, OP made mistake there by using not his own address, but FaucetPay deposit address to get funds from faucets.
