to place a limit order

Hi.Can somebody explain how i make limit order.When I go to bitvavo where i hve a account i see on advanced limit order buy theree things i hve to fill in:Quantity is this the quantity in BTC i want to buy? Price is this de price I want to pay ? Total :what does this mean?My confusion is with to fill in price is it that i put a price lower then what the BTC is doing at that moment,forinstance the BTC is doing €45.000 but I want to buy the quantity i just filled in when the BTC goes to €€44000 or do i fill in the price i want to pay for the quantity I just filled in?Thank you.Poeki.

When you put 2 of the 3 items... it should autofill the 3rd...

So, if you put Quantity+Price... it should work out the total amount that you would need to have in your account to be able to buy that. If you put Price+Total... it should work out the quantity of BTC that you're going to receive. And if for some weird reason you put Quantity and Total, it will tell you the price

A limit order mean you want to buy or sell a coin at a specific price. So a buy limit order should be lower than the market price. If its above the market price, it will be filled immediately at the market price. Likewise,  a sell limit order should be higher than the market price. If it's below the market price, it will be filled immediately at the market price.

In your case
Quantity = Amount of Bitcoins you want to buy
Price = The price of each Unit of bitcoin at which you want the order executed
Total = Quantity of Bitcoins you bought X The price of each Unit of bitcoin at which you want the order executed. The total shows up automatically after you have filled price and quantity

For a buy limit order, the price should be at least below the market price. Any price above will get filled up immediately at market price. Also, the much lower the price from market price, the longer to might take for your order to get filled/executed.
