Welcome to the crypto industry. Since you are newbies in the crypto and forum as well, you have to learn a lot. Investing in crypto isn't much hard, but determine the right place is quite hard. If you invest in the shitcoin probably you have to regret it later. I will say your thoughts are wrong, buying altcoin and convert it into Bitcoin later would be the right decision at the beginning in my opinion. It would consider trading and you have to learn more about it to avoid losses. It would reasonable to buy a small part of bitcoin as suggested by other users, doesn't necessary to buy the entire Bitcoin. Most important is to learn about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. There is much information on the webs from where you can learn. Also, Bitcointalk is the biggest crypto community ever from where you can learn day by day. So spend more time on the forum by reading constructive discussions related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency technologies. That's how you can build your skill from here.

Hey guys! I am very new to cryptocurrency and I am seeking advice on how and where to invest. I do not have enough to buy an entire bitcoin. I am wondering if it is better to buy altcoin and convert it to bitcoin later. There is so much information on the internet that it is sometimes overwhelming. That's why I am seeking your advice and getting involved in this community.
If you are just going to buy your first cryptocurrency then I will advice you to stsrt it with Bitcoin even if you buy bitcoins worth of $100 is better than investing into cheap altcoins which may not have potential and its really hard to choose which altcoins to invest for a beginner. And keep yourself updated with crypto related news and information by keep yourself active on this platform.

Depends actually. With $100 budget that seems to be a little low for purchasing btc at its current price now. I think altcoin is much okay too however like you said its not that easy to pick. But there are ways on how to choose a good altcoin and it could be a major coin or a new sprout altcoin. Some traders betting more on new projects that could possibly gave a huge profits when that tokens pump so much but that is a hard task for a beginner. So better pick a potential major coins that is safe than newer projects.

The initial choice to buy Bitcoin is not a bad choice, because Bitcoin is the most valuable Coin today. But for some other altcoins it doesn't seem that difficult to choose.
Just have a look at some of the top lists on Coinmarketcap such as the top 10 recommended altcoins list like ETH, BNB, XRP and other coins.

The most important thing before investing is reading market movements. A beginner must also know when is the right time to invest. Basic knowledge of initial investment and trading knowledge will be required.

Hello there,
Short answer. Not getting "enough" to buy a whole Bitcoin right now is completely fair. Actually, not many people decide to go "all in" like that. Buy as much as you can, even for $50/100. It's a start.
The information on the Internet is a lot, true. And you really don't need to get overwhelmed. Feel free to check this guide How to Invest in Bitcoin: A Simple 5-Step Guide [2021] I truly hope, it would give you some ideas and clear lots of things.
Of course, choosing the precise site is a matter of choice, and could be a hard decision. Make sure to check before hopping in.
Good luck
