Switching from Coinbase to Binance for the moment. How do I do this?

I need to transfer some of my crypto from my account on coinbase.com to binance.us. I'm doing it just for the learning experience. But as I tried to do this, I realized that I don't know how to do this. I know how to transfer money from one wallet to another, but how do I transfer crypto from one exchange account to another? What are the steps?

Go to binance and press deposit to get your deposit address.

Do a normal withdrawal from coinbase (as you would to send to a wallet) and put in the deposit address they gave you from the previous step.

Be very careful with your deposit address, all coins dont use the same deposit address. Sometimes coins on the same blockchain may have the same address on your exchange account, it does not mean all your coin can be sent to that address. So U might need to verify as many times as possible before transfer to avoid loss of ones asset.

One other simple and compulsory thing to do is to simply check that your system is not compromise, mostly with your clipboard. You can check that on Window+V for your safety, sometimes those moving huge funds are be attacked through this means, hope this help.

Transferring asset from Coinbase to another exchange is not as difficult as you might think. You only need to get your deposit wallet on Binance which you will use when you transfer asset from Coinbase. Read a little how you do it, Coinbase has a few tips for you if you pay attention to it before this thread was created.

Each type of crypto has its own address, so make sure you’re sending Bitcoin to a Bitcoin address, and Ethereum to an Ethereum address.

cool, thanks guys! and ya'all were right, it was pretty simple once I knew the steps. I was able to successfully transfer. I had to wait a good 10 minutes while it was pending but it worked.

Good thing you've made it without any technical errors, but I think that isn't about 10 minutes, based on my experienced, it's almost an hour but it doesn't matter as long as you've successfully transferred your fund to Binance.

Always make sure that you've double or triple check the recipient's address because when you hit send button, it's an irreversible transaction or you can't undo your transaction, not like fiat that the sender might able to chargeback the transaction.

Hi there he mentioned about depositing on Binance.US is there a difference from transferring tokens from the Binance Global and that binance.US since probably restriction to that might differ though depositing funds is simply decentralized when we used binance global. Or the strictness of Binance US is only from withdrawal?

Follow this one. Remember that if its an ETH token that you will send to your binance account, then make sure you get your binance ETH deposit address as your recipient address. If its BTC address then obviously you need the binance BTC deposit address.

This is actually a learning curve for newbies and sometimes the interface of exchanges can be confusing.

Great to hear! And also, be careful choosing the right network. Like for example, ETH, you can opt for BSC or ERC20 or BEP2 or in USDT (BEP2/BSC/ERC20/OMNI/TRC20). It is better to double check this kind of detail rather than encountering problem about error in sending to these different networks. Hard if you encounter one. Before executing every transaction, you really have to check not only one about the addresses to prevent losing your funds.

I believe someone mentioned binance.us is actually the cheapest way to get funds to your bank account via ACH compared to coinbase/coinbase pro and kraken and gemini?
