Beans was created under the purpose of 'Fucking Around and Finding Out' or FAFO for short. Since the boom of meme currencies, the FAFO cost has increased exponentially for these coins and it is a lot less fun.
Beans is committed to FAFO

Beans is a Bitcoin clone, with some tweaks done in the name of FAFO:
  Block size - 10mb
  block time - 2.5 min
Halving -  420710 blocks (about every 2 years)
  Difficulty re-target - 1 hour
  Reward - 50 beans
  Maturity - 100 blocks
  Total Supply - ~42,071,000
  Pre-Mined Beans - 0
  POW - SHA-256D

Things in the FAFO pipline
Change algorithm
P2Pool/Pool Mining MiningCoinsPool 0.6% fee https://mc1.xyz/
Block explorer
Beans Faucet
Segwit fork after block 2016?
Determine if Taproot is/is not enabled
Any other ideas found to be FAFO worthy

Currently Beans is CPU mineable, but since its the the algorithm is sha-256d it can be mined by anything capable of the algorithm.
There are no pools or anything available so its purely a solo mined coin at this time.
This can be done using the Core Wallet itself and the command 'generatetoaddress', or by using mining software and mine via rpc

Beans have no monetary value, and I would expect a very high negative return on any mining. If you do plan to mine, it would be best to use as little power as possible.
The only way to get beans is to either to mine beans yourself, or have someone send you beans.
No one should be selling you beans. In general, beans should be used to place silly bets with your friend/s

Beans will be launching on 5.22.21 at 12am UTC
Beans has Launched! FAFO Today!

Q: What is the purpose of beans?
A: An open project that anyone can use to learn more about pow based crypto with low stakes, aka FAFO.
Q: What are my FAFO options
A: Some options are, but not limited to: Learning to build from source, Solo mining directly on the blockchain, Waste money and commit a 51% attack. You're only limited by your imagination!
Q: How do I get beans?
A: Mine using the Beans-Core wallet cli, or using mining software via Beans-Core wallet RPC
Q: Who accepts beans
A: Definitively most of the world does not accept beans.
Q: Is this a true shit coin?
A: Yes
Q: Why is the algorithm SHA-256D?
A: This will be changed eventually, but for now its in the works. Its a good oppurtunity for some to FAFO 51% attacks
Q: This is a really stupid project, but i want to check it out anyways. where do i get the Beans-Core Wallet?
A: https://github.com/BakedInside/Beans-Core a CPU miner is also available here https://github.com/BakedInside/BeansFarmer/releases/tag/BeansFarmer
As always, install at your own risk.
Everything was forked directly from the bitcoin-core repository.
always feel free to inspect the code for anything malicious

If you like the project, feel free to donate some beans: bs1qu4uh7ahyey3f3u7lmw3zyj80u58hmypjcmvjdn

~Milestones~
Network Hashrate > 500 MH/s - block 4873
Network Hashrate > 1.5 GH/s - ~ block 8000 (has since retruned lower, but wow whata number)
1st Mining pool offered by MiningCoinsPool https://mc1.xyz/
Network Hashrate > 500 GH/s - ~ 16500
Network Hashrate > 4 TH/s - ~ 16700 (looks like the big beans are here to stay)

24 hours up and looks like everything is running well. Difficulty is still trying to find its balance.
I dont think any transactions have been made as of yet, so if anyone wants to be the first transaction on the network, drop your beans address. Lets get these beans moving!

Not dead, but really really really stuck.
In the process of changing the algorithm, after the difficulty can be reset. Then beans will be back on the menu.
