Hey guys. Just set up my first mining rig a few days ago. Got my RX 580 to run 30-31 MH/s with some relatively simple mods (will be adding more gpus soon!). Right now I'm having an issue with stale shares I can't quite figure out. It's reporting that 30% of my accepted shares are stale. Right now I'm mining on phoenixminer using the us1 ethermine pool. I only have like 55ms latency as well. At first I thought it might just be my overclock that is causing stale shares (like phoenixminer is misreporting them as stale when they are really incorrect) but I lowered the clocks to values I knew were running fine yesterday. I also changed my bios today using polaris one-click editor. I'm really not sure what could be causing all of these stale shares, maybe an issue with the pool?

Thanks!

55ms is so cool   Shocked, that's something I never get on my internet connection setups, the max I get here is 100ms and I have no stale shares, though there are two weird pools that brings stale shares even if your ms is 10ms and even rejected shares, that's hiveon pool and nicehash pool, but when I switch to binance pool, Viabtc or poolin I have none of these problems, so find what works for you, change pool, by the way I use NBminer

Stale shares are not accepted, they're rejected. If 30% of the submitted shares are
rejected the pool will report a 30% lower hash rate and some will report rejects as well.
You need to find out what's really going on before you can fix it.

Hi i also use Ethermine US1 and Phoenixminer, 1 pc with 6800 then another pc with nvidias. Get 160ms returns like 1% stale.
I think you might be getting error due to drivers not working with Phoenixminer version well, that use to happen to me.
5.5c u want 21.1.1
For the newer 5.6 you want the latest drivers 21.4.1 i think.

Also if you check you stats page on Ethermine it will say like 5-6% which is the actual amount ur getting if miner is reporting 30%.
At least for me when miner reported 25% stale the actual Ethermine pool was reporting 5% for that PC.

Not 100% sure this is whats happening but cos amd cards it definitely sounds like it might be.

Edit: also now both my machines sit at 1% stale on the Ethermine pool page, rarely see 2%. Hope this helps.

Ethermine works pplns and it has 4000mhs difficulty.Ofcourse with 30mhs you having less luck. other people much more faster than you. You must find pool with pps+ with 30mhs so will be payed for every share.

I hate phoenix miner for some reasons, I know it's smooth for some but never for me, I prefer other miners like Trex, NBminer, my suggestion if download different miners and try different pools, you will get fast answers this way or just download betterhash software and see how it performs

Nothing is wrong with your internet connection, 55ms is more than good for low latency it's better to return your core clock and memory clock to default and try again for some hours to see where you are doing something wrong

This is very easy to check. Install the original BIOS and standard settings on the video card without overclocking.
The number of stale shares should be no more than 5%. I have 2% stale shares and network latency over 200ms.
Not all RX 580 video cards give a result of 30-31 MH/s, I'm sure you have a problem with overclocking, but after 12 hours of testing, you can check it.
Have you kept the original BIOS?
