Hi. I want to have bitcoins on a paper wallet, but how to make it completely anonymous, how to break the link between my name on exchange and the wallet? I don't want the paper wallet to be linked to my identity in any way. Is it possible?

There are 2 ways to do it, the first one is by using a mixer service, their job is to mix coins to give the users untrackable outputs, which means it would be almost impossible for someone to trace your coins from the withdraw on the exchange, and chipmixer is a good option for this. The second option is to make a withdraw to a casino, and then from that casino send the coins to another casino and after that send the coins to the paper wallet, that will make it hard to track those coins because your inputs will not be involved with your outputs.

As for the posts above its true that a bitcoin mixer is your only way to do what you want. But the thing is exchanges prohibits the use of mixers, sending and receiving funds from/to exchanges (esp those exchanges that require kyc). What you should do is send from exchange to your temporary wallet (still backup needed ofc) send it to a bitcoin mixer (I recommend chipmixer) then send to your paper wallet or main wallet.

Avoiding exchanges that request KYC also comes at the risk that they shut their doors right after you deposit your Bitcoins. I don't know how much you want to send to that paper wallet, but going with unregistered exchanges when we are talking high amounts of Bitcoins is like playing with fire.

Instead of using centralized exchanges with mandatory kyc, you should use P2P websites like localcryptos.com or decentralized exchanges like Bisq to purchase and exchange your coins.

There is no perfect anonymity and privacy for Bitcoin but you can use several techniques to improve it with something like Coinjoins with Wasabi wallet, and mixing services like Chipmixer.

There are limitations for coinjoins and you need to have minimum 0.1 BTC for that, but you can send smaller amounts of Bitcoin to Chipmixer, you will then receive chips with private keys, sweep them and send to your paper wallet.

It is not untraceable. The way CoinJoin functions makes it such that it is more difficult to associate the inputs and the outputs and thus anyone trying to break the privacy would know one of the outputs belongs to OP but they would have a harder time trying to find out which. In a way, CoinJoin obfuscates the origin and the end-point but it doesn't completely break the link. An advantage would that it is basically trustless.

If you need to completely break the link, use an actual mixer. That alone wouldn't be enough, you have to take steps to ensure that your privacy is preserved when sending the coins or using the website.

Mixing services are the only one that I can think at the top of my head that you can use to transfer bitcoins to the most anonymous fashion also you might want to try and go for Monero, that one is pretty anonymous cryptocurrency.

Mixers are there to help you with that. It's kind of like money laundering but legal and secure, just ensure that you of course mix your coins with a reputable provider. What goes on is the coins are mixed with other coins in the market and is sent to you in batches to ensure that no one is able to track that it came from a single person's transaction. it's a good way to avoid being targeted by hackers.

Let's say you mixed your coins successfully and send them to a private wallet no one knows and never been used since. So it got out of the exchange as the last traceable link to it. I was just thinking if the IRS will ask you what happen to your coins that got out of the exchange?

This is the same thing I was thinking. You have currency in an account registered to you and it vanishes without a trace. I would think that would raise a red flag.
