That's reality, if you find the right coin and invest in the right time I'm pretty sure it will be more quicker compared to other form of investment, I guess it's more on how you trust the project and how you do your assessment plus the time that you are consuming to follow the developer whenever they are bringing updates from the project.

Yes Ethereum and BNB are both potential alt coins for long term investment.But apart from these, there are several other potential alt coins in the cryptocurrency market which are the lite coin Solana.They are suitable for long term investment if one has the mindset to invest for long term then they will definitely get good profits if they invest in these coins.

Everyone adopts different strategies from his personal space to buy and sell altcoins. Some trade altcoins for short-term gains, some make long-term investments. I think coin selection is key in this type of investment. Among the altcoins I find Ethereum and BNB to be the safest to invest in. Ethereum ETF is expected to be approved in May. There is also a Bitcoin halving matter  ahead, hopefully starting a bull run. Looking at future events I think Ethereum and BNB should be invested for the long term, I am also long term invested in both coins. Also investing in LTC, SOL, MATIC, ADA coins will be a good decision to wait till bull season.

As far as hodling is concerned to gain profit I think bitcoin is the coin for anyone to consider for hodling. The reason I prefer bitcoin to hodl is that it is reliable to hodl, their is peace of mind in investing bitcoin. When thinking of long-term investment to go for bitcoin is always the number one .  Altcoins are uncertain because they are copy cat coin and most of them are not good in hodling because they lack good Market value.
