What Router to use for mining farm over 300

Hi Guys what router do you use to assign ip's in your farm if you have aver 300 assics?

I'm not an expert, but you'll probably need more than one subnet. If you have under 510 units, two subnets (the normal and a guest) may do.

But definitely try to get more input before buying or configuring anything.

this is good advice.

and if you have lots of s17 or s19

200 or more s17 are 1 million dollars

200 or more s19 are 1.9 million dollars.

consider two independent internet services

200 x 100 = 20000 th or 6400 usd a day or  190,000 a month .

redundant accounts is common sense

I gave you a merit for follow up.

We have verizon and we have optimum and we earn well under 100,000 a month but having both internets gives us very fast turnover,

The modems/routers  are in the same location each modem has 8 eth jacks

we have 2 cables into 2x   8 port  switches.

the eight port switches  use 4  48 port swtiches

we have 50 pieces of gear on this one
so modem verizon to 8 port router to 8 port switch to 4x 48 port switches
 ----------------------------------------- 8 port switch  empty to 1 empty 48 port switch



we have 50-65 pieces of mining gear to below

and modem optimum to 8 port router to 8 port switch to 4x 48 port switches
---------------------------------------------8 port switch empty - 1 empty 48 port switch


So we could do 240 +. 240 = 480 miners

and we are like 100-115 miners

our earnings more than cover the easy peasy backup costs which are 900 a year more for the second internet

and the extra 48 port switches are all second hand  so we have 10 at under 1000 and they will last for years

the extra 8 port switches are like 100

the extra router was about 300. so 1400 for parts that are a 1 time buy and 900 a year for 2 internets.

Now you may ask why so much ability to go up to 480 or so miners.  We have a lot of untapped power.
we will get to over 300 miners in the next 18 months. So we will be able to do 150 on each internet  and in a pinch be able to keep most of the gear up with easy wire switching

I wouldn't use the DHCP server on the router, just pop a linux or windows server with dhcp running on it on the network and configure it all from there.

your idea of a server is also good if you want dhcp

I like static  better as it is easier to find bad rigs. If you use a router do static.

Say

192.168.1.10-50 for your s9's
192.168.1.51-100 for your s17's

192.168.1.101-150 for your avalons

or is all gear is the same

sort by  rack

ie shelf rack with 5 shelf holding 6 per shef is 30 for that rack so

192.168.1.10-40  is first rack with 30 miners
192.168.1.41-70 is second rack with 30 miners.

Honestly, just about any router will work, though you might want something with a higher reliability.

You just need to set a larger subnet size.  For instance the 10.0.0.0 net can route 16777216 IP's.

172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 = 1048576
and 192.168.0.0-192.168.255.2255 = 65536

You just have to setup your subnet to the right size.

Last time I helped out a mine guy, we set him up with an older but still quite solid Dell server loaded with PFSense tied into a 24-port Cisco managed switch with a subnet per port, so he could map IPs to physical locations really easily. We put some multi-head gigabit NICs in for future expansions, but that initial configuration could have fed over five thousand miners and only cost me around five hundred in materials. I based the config off my own hosting setup, which peaked around 70 miners on about 18 subnets.
