I am not a fan of any politician or any political party but they must exist in system we have today and it is good to know and support politicians that support Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Politicians website is crowdsourced data project for tracking US politicians who took the Bitcoin pill, and this data is based on publicly revealed financial disclosures.

This project is maintained by Jameson Lopp, and so far we have only a few confirmed Bitcoin politicians like Cynthia Lummis and Patrick Toomey that support and own Bitcoin.

Other politicians like Mitt Romney own gold bullion, Joshua Hawley owns gold trust, and Dwight Evans owns ARKX, Paypal, Tesla and Western Union stocks.

If you know any other Bitcoin politician missing from this list you can make Github contribution here:
https://github.com/jlopp/bitcoin-politicians/edit/master/README.md

Website:
https://bitcoinpoliticians.org/

- Cynthia Lummis ($100K - $250K of bitcoin owned)
- Michael Waltz ($30K-$100K BTC)
- Michael McCaul ($1K-$15K GBTC in children's trust)
- Jefferson Van Drew ($100K-$250K Grayscale Trust)
- Barry Moore ($1-15k "crypto currency")
- Patrick Toomey ($2K-$30K GBTC & ETHE)

Although its good to have them in the system but if they didn't perform well on their duties then I don't want them stay on there sets its better to choose a politician who can make there economy more better and have a strong political will since bitcoin adoption will just follow to that if we can see a proactive government who's listening on every suggestion given by his citizens.

Probably needs to be said: don’t vote for a certain politician just because he/she is a bitcoiner. Look broader— if the candidate is actually has done a good job in the past or not.

Decent list though!

I don't support politician just because they support bitcoin, that's a bit stupid in my opinion because bitcoin isn't going to make things right if we support that. I mean would you vote for a politician that's clearly racist, incompetent and the only catch is that that politician supports bitcoin?

Texas has bitcoin mining operations powered by their newly constructed wind farms. Which some texas politicians like Ted Cruz have vocally supported, criticizing the federal government's efforts to regulate the crypto industry.

Quote
Ted Cruz says Senate can’t regulate crypto without knowing ‘what in the hell’ it is

August 10, 2021

Ted Cruz is lashing out at fellow senators amid a debate over tax enforcement requirements for crypto transactions — blasting his colleagues for trying to regulate without enough knowledge to define “what in the hell a cryptocurrency is.”

The Texas Republican slammed his counterparts on the Senate floor on Monday as he pushed to remove what he says are “harmful regulations” on the cryptocurrency industry that are included in the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.

Cruz argued it was wrong to regulate something they didn’t yet understand as the Biden administration supports a push to make cryptocurrency brokers disclose user transactions.

Critics argue that such regulations will ultimately kill the digital currency industry in the US.

“Let’s exercise a brief shining moment of common sense,” Cruz told the Senate on Monday.

https://nypost.com/2021/08/10/ted-cruz-says-senate-will-harm-cryptocurrency-industry-with-regulations/

Florida has also shown pro bitcoin support for their local economy.

For the most part republicans appear to lean pro bitcoin. Republican states are most likely to accept bitcoin and pass laws favorable to crypto. While democrats seem to lean in the opposite direction given new york's outright ban of tether and similar negative trends in democrat states.

bitcoin politicians in the united states, actually we often fall in love, and it's easy to believe the promises of politicians who say they are lovers of bitcoin, and crypto money, actually he doesn't do his job properly, actually he wants to be famous, so that his name is more famous, it's better to choose politicians Those who think about bitcoin, who do a lot of work not a lot of style, who give solutions not those who give promises..

Looks good.
Sounds good.
But if bitcoin would want to make you support a politician, I'd suggest you look beyond what you see now.
Bitcoin shouldn't be a determinant is all I'm saying.

Politicians is like a green snake, if we eventually or massively support or vote a politician because it support the adoption of bitcoin, it's obvious that we don't really want the betterment or development of bitcoin again, because the government we are emphasising on everyday that hate bitcoin are the same politicians that we want to endorse because they like cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, it's quite clear that they dislike BTC

What??
You want to involve politicians in a decentralised system?
Most of them are greedy and for this fact, the wouldn't want to indulge in here because in here, everything is clear and nobody can be dubbed.
Most politicians that are ECONOMIST will as well indulge and support crypto movement. These set of politicians are the foremen when its comes to LEGALISATION AND IMPLEMENTATION of crypto project

It's one way to win against this oppressing regulation though. If it weren't for the senators like Teddy Cruz and Lumis of Wyoming, it might just be easy for the senate to pass a regulatory bill that's more damaging for this industry.

There are many crypto politicians who are about to run but I think they are just using the crypto community to win like the mayors in NY. The Messari CEO Ryan Selkis AFAIK wants to run in congress too which recently had also witness Feds Serving Subpoena to the crypto panelist.

The tweet of this guy https://twitter.com/gogoSlava/status/1439972015910408195 is confirmed I think he was among of the panel

Most of the drop in bitcoin prices is influenced by incidents from politicians, because in general they do not like the presence of bitcoin and bitcoin price bullruns are generally influenced by large investors who are not involved in politicians. so they are just outsiders trying to influence the bitcoin price in a negative way.

Decentralized means no leader, and involving a politician doesn't mean that you're giving the politician any authority.

Also, the role of a politician in this sense is to push for better laws and regulations that could benefit people in general, and definitely not in the way the current board is handling it.

If you’re going to support any politician it shouldn’t be because they are supporting Bitcoin, I always believe that whether there are politicians who are supporting Bitcoin or not, it is still going to grow.Right from time there has been people who were fighting against Bitcoin, but that didn’t stop it from growing and reaching the level it is now.

So, all these things that has to do with politicians supporting Bitcoin, you already know that it’s just for their own benefit, so there’s no need for you to be voting them just because of their supporting Bitcoin. You have to look beyond that, their character and what they have done so far is what matters a lot.

Of course, it is pointless to go for a politician on the sole basis of his/her involvement with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency but it surely helps especially in terms of advocacy because with someone having Bitcoin you can surely count on his/here support with good legislation to positively impact on Bitcoin and possible non-support of any bills that can have negative repercussions on it. Would it safe to say that Republicans are more inclined to own and support Bitcoin than those in the Democrats side who are more for strict regulations on the industry just like Senator Elizabeth Warren?

I am sure that senator Ted Cruz is supporting Bitcoin and he is on this list but there is still no public confirmation that he actually owns any Bitcoin.
List of ownership growing since I last checked, but it's mostly for Gold Trsut and precious metals.

Miami mayor Francis Suarez is one more supporter but he is not on this list because it's only for congress members.

Also, the role of a politician in this sense is to push for better laws and regulations that could benefit people in general, and definitely not in the way the current board is handling it.
Can you imagine theymos as politician or some other bitcointalk member?  Cheesy

Hah. I know some of us here would still hold bitcoin if it was the case that it was illegalized(directly or indirectly), but some folks would like to have bitcoin without wanting to "break" the law. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

Few more politicians added to the list of Bitcoin owners/supporters and interesting thing that all of them are republicans so far, including previously mentioned Cynthia Lummis and Patrick Toomey:
- Michael Waltz
- Michael McCaul (holding GBTC in children's trust)
- Jefferson Van Drew (holding $100K-$250K Grayscale Trust)

Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez is a well known Bitcoin supporter but he is confirming that again and he will receive all his next paycheck in Bitcoin.
Eric Adams is one more politician and newly elected mayor of New York City who will receive his first three paychecks in Bitcoin, and he plans to make NYC center of cryptocurrency and innovation.

Both of this politicians are not in US Congress so they can't be found in bitcoinpoliticians.org website, but I think it's important to mention them here, and it's only a matter of time when we see more of them.
I don't trust politicians, but I trust the math and Bitcoin code.
