Bitcoin Client Software and Version Number: Schildbach Wallet 4.12 (2014)
Operating System: Android 4.1
System Hardware Specs: Asus Padfone 2 (now rooted and unlocked bootloader)
Description of Problem: I had a wallet on my old Asus Padfone 2, using the Schildbach app. I lost it during an upgrade from Jelly Bean (most likely 4.3, but might be 4.1) to KitKat (4.4), in which most program settings were reset. I had a backup made with Asus PC Tool prior to the OS upgrade, but were unable to restore the application data. I had contact with Asus tech support back then, and they said I could not restore program data made in backups of older versions of Android OS to KitKat. A little later, my Padfone 2 died because of broken charging port and faulty battery. This happened in late 2014. I've kept the backup since then, which consists of around 11k files with uuid type filenames, totally around 900 MB. I managed to get another Asus phone (slightly newer) on second hand market, and I was able to restore the backup to the phone using my old version of Asus PC TOOL (1.0.0.6). However, it did just restore photos, contacts and text messages, but not the valuable stuff.
The phone is a Zenfone 4 (not the recent model, a budget model with same name from 2014), running Kitkat. I did also try installing a very old version of the wallet (4.12 from 2014) and run the restore process again, but it still didn't restore the data. A few days ago, I were also able to resurrect my old Padfone 2, and installed Android 4.1 by sideloading it from TWRP recovery. Asus PC Tool discovers the phone, but for some reason it is just able to backup, but not restore as on the Zenfone 4. How good are my chances to actually recover the wallet? Very grateful for any help.
