Does any mods read emails sent about hacked accounts to the email mentioned at:
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Meta > Recovering hacked/lost accounts ?
I sent about two weeks ago email regarding my original account from 2013, which I lost when forum was hacked a few years ago.
Nothing recent / urgent, it's about old... in blockchain time, very old thing Smiley
Anyway, I really much wish to get my account back. Nothing super but nostalgia and history in that account, and only a few hundreds posts Smiley
Please check email if possible. Thx in advance!

Emails should be checked quite frequently afaik (assuming it was this email address: recoveries...@bitcointalk.org

Did you provide proof you used to own the account or anything that could be used to identify you (eg the email address you used to make the account and a signed message)?

It's on the sticky posts on the meta section and it's here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0.

If your account was hacked

Email recoveries...@bitcointalk.org, ideally from the account's email address. Include your username and a brief description of the details of how/when the account was hacked. A signature will likely be required (see below).

Be ready with your proof, it should be a signed message from your old Bitcoin address that was quoted from other users or from the spreadsheet of any signature or bounty campaign that you've joined before.

Tell us which account that have been hacked, it's easy to recover and the hacker can't use it if we put temporarily a negative tag while the account was on the scammer's hand.

Recovering an account is now much easier that it was in the earlier years since there is now a team dedicated to resolve such issues. Just make sure you have;
  • Access to the original email address of the hacked account
  • A signed message from one of the Bitcoin addresses you may have earlier on posted in the forum before the hack.
