keep the keys to the bitcoin wallet, one of the obligations of the wallet owner.
I created a bitcoin wallet for the first time using blockchain, because I can say that I have never transacted bitcoin, I have begun to understand in the past 2 years why people are competing to store bitcoin, it turns out that the price of bitcoin is out of control, I look for my keys and I get treasure in my bitcoin wallet

Nah I'm too lazy to do that, though I don't think there will be much difference  in keeping them. I have my old keys for few years now, I'm just getting sad by looking at my portfolio. Lots of tokens from the previous campaign I joined before, still no value.

Yea.. I'd care a lot less as well if we're talking about most altcoins here because altcoins are another story. Tongue But bitcoin though? Definitely a keep, I think a lot of people are totally underestimating bitcoin's future potential despite it's $1T market cap. I'd say if you still have rotting altcoins that are near-dead, just convert em to bitcoin even if they're just worth like $10.

I'm glad I did this over a year ago. I figured altcoins are temporary, Bitcoin is the future.

As much as possible I traded all Alts bar ETH and LTC into BTC, I also double checked old
wallets and changed my PC.

I have kept all recovery seeds though, dies that count for anything?

In the words of Satoshi:

Sigh... why delete a wallet instead of moving it aside and keeping the old copy just in case?  You should never delete a wallet.

Thats why I do keeping my old wallet's keys with me. And even those shitcoins today will gonna have value in the future. Who knows? I had bucks of undervalued coins in my old wallet but I still have access on it. Whether it will still be undervalued or will have a value, the essense of keeping it with you will make a possible miracle. Lol.

I mined altcoins in 2014. In 2017-18 I ran across a note in an excel file that suggested I'd left a fraction of a litecoin on a mining pool. I started going through all my old mining pool accounts and wound up finding about $300 worth of Dash, Litecoin and other coins that had been below the withdrawal thresholds back in 2014. That was a fun exercise.

The entire gist of OP's post is essentially to have backup access to your old wallets regardless how "cheap" the balances are, so really, any type of backup would do as long as you're sure that you wouldn't lose access.

just found this on some old wallet  Kiss

I guess you leaving a bit of satoshi in the past, maybe 600k sat ($0.3) then surprise you opened your wallet got x1000. by your experience, I would not pull up all the balance if regenerate a new wallet, I will leave such 100 sat for the future, who knows it would be $300.

You should always have the backup of your keys and seed on the external hard drives stored in somewhere safe place even if you don't use them.Because as @OP mentioned you don't know when you can need it in case of some coins flowing into the wallets through airdrops or mining pools. Some people regret not having backup of their keys and now they have lost their huge funds. You can't say which coins become gold from litter within a matter of time so you must be holding them in safe place.Just have a backup it does not cost you any extra but can give you profits.

Bit of a necrobump here but someone just may have lost access to a bunch of funds.
Not 100% due to the fact that they do not have access to an old wallet, but because of that they might not be able to recover it

Keep copies of everything you never know when you might need it.
