Hi,

Is it safe and effective to use this plugin as exchange software for a Bitcoin P2P exchange?

https://codecanyon.net/item/crypterion-multifeatured-cryptocurrency-exchange-platform-with-selfhosted-wallets/25160482

Thank you.

I don't know this software, but the fact that it appears to be a closed-source, paid application is a big red flag for me. I've also just never heard of it yet.
You'll be better off having a look at https://bisq.network/.

Bisq is free, open-source, non-custodial, Tor-based and of course P2P. The organization is set up as a DAO, which is not built on a buggy Ethereum smart contract, but directly on Bitcoin.

The trading volume isn't huge, but it's usually enough for most buyers. I've never seen offers for buying or selling a whole 1BTC, and in general larger sums, however you could split those up into multiple ones easily. That would really be my only negative feedback about this project.
I do hope that with the crackdown on crypto in the EU especially, Bisq will gain more traction and have higher trading volume in the future.

You are not the only one. A forum search for "Crypterion" shows no results. Entering and searching the same term on Ninjastic.Space shows no mentions either. Even a "site:bitcointalk.org Crypterion" Google search results in absolutely nothing useful. OP is the first person to ever mention this software on Bitcointalk and that says a lot about it popularity or lack of it to be more precise.

I have read that Bisq is slow. Is this true? Any way to rectify it?

Bisq is somewhat different compared to traditional exchanges. A centralized exchange is like every other website, you load it in your browser and it works. Bisq needs to sync the latest blocks + it is running TOR, which isn't exactly built for speed. The software needs to fully sync with the blockchain just like a wallet. According to some info I read in the past, it's also building and synchronizing the DAO the first time you run Bisq. All that takes time. I suggest you leave it alone a bit, let it sync and do it's work before you start using it.

It's slow in the sense that you're doing P2P trades, so after paying, you have to wait for the seller to confirm the payment and 'release the funds' to make them available to you. In my experience that usually takes a few hours, especially if you take an offer during work hours. If the seller is not cooperating, you may also have to wait till the end of the trading period (7 days) to resolve the issue with a mediator.
However, the benefits of using this software heavily outweigh this 'speed' limitation.

The slow 'speed' cannot be avoided without making the whole thing custodial / trust-based. Keep in mind Bisq isn't even a company; but that's the cool thing, there's no central server, no central CEO to bribe or anything like this. Your PC, while staying on, is the server keeping your offer online.
It's also worth mentioning many of the fiat payment methods that are offered, are pretty fast, like Revolut, Strike and Instant SEPA.
