Okay, I've been playing around with bitcoin since last summer (just about the time of the Great BTC Crash), and put together three small-scale mining rigs to teach myself the ropes. Quite a few ATI Radeon cards showed up on eBay about then (probably being dumped by discouraged miners) so I was able to get into the mining thing without much of an investment. Since then, I've had some interesting experiences, learned some valuable lessons, but never lost my enthusiasm for bitcoin. I'm only generating a miniscule number of coins on my own, but it's enough to keep me interested. Okay, "interested" isn't exactly the right word. Obsessed is probably more accurate.
I've also attended some bitcoin meetups and met people way smarter than me who feel there may be a future for this currency. Their interest in the bitcoin phenomenon reassures me that I'm not totally crazy for having a vision of starting a business using BTC as a trading mechanism.
I've been a lurker here on the forums for months, and never needed to ask questions because anything I didn't know has already been answered by someone else long ago, so all I had to do was a quick search here to find out whatever information I needed.
So now, I guess it's time to start contributing to the conversation, like I do at the face-to-face bitcoin meetups. Let's get down to business, okay?
