Sapphire produces three different types of RX 5700 XT GPU. Each type GPU has some differences. Let's check them:

-Each model has two different RAM types: Samsung & Micron. There is no any chance to know which memopry is used in the GPU if you dont open the box and insert the GPU to the motherboard. There are two different istributors in my country. And one of them sells Micron memory, the other one sells Samsung RAM. Well, I have to heck the warranty card before buy GPU. I have no any idea for the other countries.

-I had to buy 2 pcs Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT BE 8G GDDR6 (11293-10-40G), 2 pcs Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 (11293-03-40G), 2 pcs Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 SE (11293-05-40G). I searched over google and watched a lots of videos and read a lot of articles about this new RX 5700 XT GPUs. I made professional ETH mining Bbios for each GPU after several attemps. I tested all of them for 7 days.

-Dont buy Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT BE 8G GDDR6 (11293-10-40G) if it s not cheaper than other models. Some sellers tries to sell it the same price as Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 (11293-03-40G). 10-20 USD price discount is not a good deal.

-Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 (11293-03-40G) is a good choice. Stable works. Extra lights. More attractive if you sell it after years.

-Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 SE (11293-05-40G) is the most expensive one. RGB fans, higher hashrates for ETH Smiley But again the most expensive series. It also needs more power than the other models.

-I also realised that Samsung memory and Micron memory differences. Micron memory needs more power but gives higher hashrates. Samsung memory needs lower power but gives lower hashrates. Micron memory makes more heat than Samsung memory.

-I decided to buy more NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 (11293-03-40G) and I sold the other ones. I also made some money while selling the others cause USD price to local money is higher now.

-I have 108 pcs NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6 (11293-03-40G). 9 rigs with 12 pcs GPUs. I chose Samsung memory, Of course I have some micron memory. But thinking about heat, power, stability: Samsung beats Micron. Of course the electric tariff is low in your country and you have a perfect cooling, you can choose micron memory. In my opinion, Samsung memory is better for my case. I use air con and the electric tariff is expensive in my country. Air con needs to use more power to cooling if i use Micron memory instead of Samsung memory. But if you use air ventilation systems you will spend lower power. I have all information about Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT seris GPUs. I also bought a few Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT GPUs. The same two memory types. Acording to my search, there are four types for PULSE. But i only checked 2 of them. As I can see, Pulse ones have higher heat for memory. The ETH hashrate is almost the same. Cooling performance is worse than Nitro+

Sapphire RX series was very good in terms of ETH mining back in 2017. Now dropped the idea of mining considering aggressive ETH 2.0 development to replace POW with POS.

Hi, you mentioned that use 12 GPUs setup in rings.  What OS do you use linux(hive/rave/other) or win?  is it stable? what AMD drivers vers? what motherboard? what rizers (molex/6pin)? what power supply?
ps. i have 12 x 5700xt gpus rig but cannot get stable work.

How can you tell in Windows if it's a Samsung or Micron memory?

In Windows:
Back up bios via GPU-Z.
Open the bios in RBE and go to VRAM tab.
If you see only K4Z80325BC, it is Samsung memory.
If you see K4Z80325BC & MT61K256M32, you cannot know it is Samsung or Micron cause this bios is written for Samsung & Micron.

K4Z80325BC states Samsung.
MT61K256M32 states Micron.

I advise you use HiveOS. HiveOS tells the memory in Overview page.

ps. i have 12 x 5700xt gpus rig but cannot get stable work.

I prefer HiveOS. It is userfriendly. Use beta image with 19.30 AMD drivers.
Biostar TB250-BTC PRO motherbord. v6C 6pin risers. Mostly Everest 1650W PSU, some of them EVGA 1650W PSU.

MINING TEST SYTSTEM INFORMATIONS:
-Gamemax GM-1650 1650W PSU
-MSI Z97 Gaming Motherboard
-Intel(R) Pentium(R) 2 Core CPU G3250 @ 3.20GHz
-Kingston ValueRam KVR16N11S8/4 4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11 RAM

The monitor eats 19W and the rest of the system eats 39W while the HiveOS is running .
Total power consumption is 58W. I will plug the monitor without watt meter.
So, all system eats 39W now. Test has just been started.

The memory of the GPU is Samsung K4Z80325BC and the model of the GPU is GDDR6 113-410XT-UO6.

All system eats 166W.
51.56 MH/s with CORE 1350, VDD 800, MEM 890, VDDCI 850, MVDD 1350 settings at stock bios.

I can set higher MEM values at stock bios than at ETH mining bios and I can get higher hashrate without any problem. But i cannot get a high hashrate as at ETH mining bios and I want to see what happens if I use the same values. I can use different values if I get higher hashrate than at ETH mining bios. So, I tested the system at the same overclcok & undervolting settings as at ETH mining bios.

55.68 MH/s with CORE 1350, VDD 800, MEM 890, VDDCI 850, MVDD 1350 settings at ETH mining  bios.

Note: I always use my own professionally edited ETH mining bios. There is a lot of information about preparing Professional ETH minnig bios over the internet. But if you need anything, I can help you about it.

I set CORE to 1400 at first. But I need undervolting too. So, I tried lower CORE values till I saw hashrate dropping. Finally, I reached sweet spot fort he GPU. Lower CORE values is important for undervolting.

The highest MEM value for my test GPU is 890. The upper values causes invalid shares. Each GPU has different asic quality. GPUs with Samsung memory can go to 910 MEM value. I see really good hashrate even if i set 890 MEM value. I cannot see this high hashrate at stock bios even if i set 900 MEM value.39 minutes mining without any problem. Of course, 39 minutes mining is not enough for testing stability. But my all Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT (11293-03-40G) with Samsung memory GPU rigs are stable with lower MEM values than 900. So, 39 minutes mining is enough for testing. I had to run the system for 24 hours to test stability if i set higher values for MEM than 890. To find stable MEM value for each GPU is so important. Then I can try undervolting.

Now, I’m gonna try another same GPU with an USB Riser. I can set higher MEM values in that GPU at ETH mining bios. So, I can get higher hashrate than the first GPU. But I’m gonna set the same values of the first GPU because I want to see power consumption if I add one more GPU.

I will use two GPU with two USB Riser. Both GPU are the same. I specifically didnt plug GPU with Micron memory because its settings are so different. But I can say Micron memory eats more power and gives higher hashrate tahn Samsung memory.

2 pcs Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT (11293-03-40G) GPU and 2 pcs USB Riser is plugged to the system.
The memory of the GPU is Samsung K4Z80325BC and the model of the GPU is GDDR6 113-410XT-UO6.

All system eats 300W.
111.3 MH/s with CORE 1350, VDD 800, MEM 890, VDDCI 850, MVDD 1350 settings at ETH mining  bios.

800 VDD values is too high for Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT with Samsung memory 11293-03-40G) GPU. I can set it from 725 to 755. I started 725 VDD. I set 5 upper value fort he GPU which gave any error. Finally, I reached 725 for my first GPU, 735 for my second GPU. I had to run the system for 24 hours to see stability.

I can set lower values for VDDCI now. Default VDDCI values are 750-850. I started from 750 but it forced the system to unstability. 775 is good form y first GPU. 785 is good for my second GPU.

HiveOS shows 95W-99W power consumption for each GPU.
But the total power consumption is 272W for all system at the wall.
The system with 12 GPU eats 1520W-1580W and gives 670 MH/s – 676 MH/s. (Samsung RAM)
The system at the same parts with Micron memory eats 1850W-1950W and gives 700 MH/s – 704 MH/s.
I hope my test will be usefull for you.

The memory of the GPU is Micron MT61K256M32 and the model of the GPU is Micron GDDR6 113-410XT-XO1.
All system eats 169W.
55.68 MH/s with CORE 1350, VDD 800, MEM 890, VDDCI 850, MVDD 1350 settings at ETH mining  bios.
Of course, we can set 930-950 MEM values for this GPU. The power consumption will be higher when you set higher MEM values.

Some usefull informations:

You cannot flash the GPU by using older bios file if you have newer bios in that GPU !
Samsung GDDR6 113-410XT-UO6 is newer than Samsung GDDR6 113-410XT-XO1 and Micron GDDR6 113-410XT-XO1.

The temp is the same. The cooler is different. not BE version fans can be change easily. BE version not.

Is 88° a safe temp for RX5700 XT? I have one that gives that much temperature when mining and it's scaring the shit out of me, I planned to build a rig with 8 RX5600XT but the temperature makes me stop my order after the first order got to me, AMD cards are too hot, I fear this card won't survive for long if mining for 24hrs everyday

For RX5700XT, I set 87 mem temp in auto fan HiveOS. It's safe up to 89. Dont let it be higher.

If you are talking about core temp, it's hot, and you should reduce this temp to something like 70°
If you are talking about memory temperature, it's fine, algos like ETH uses almost 100% of the memory, so it's pretty intense and will get hot

To reduce temps you can increase the fan curve or set manually to 70% for example (I use 70% in my GPUs and it's good, all under 70° and my room is hot)

It's always good to have good temps if you want to keep your hardware for a long time

If you're using windows, you can use the own Radeon Software to do the settings or MSI Afterburner

Have You tested the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT BE (11293-10-40G)? You tests were helpful but I don't see that. On You test I could not decide if You wrote a wrong name or part number Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT (11293-10-40G) Special Edition, please let me know.

Next week I will have a chance to get some of the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT BE (11293-10-40G), I would like to know how many MH/s they can do.

The memory of the GPU is Micron MT61K256M32 and the model of the GPU is Micron GDDR6 113-410XT-XO1.
All system eats 169W.
55.68 MH/s with CORE 1350, VDD 800, MEM 890, VDDCI 850, MVDD 1350 settings at ETH mining  bios.
Of course, we can set 930-950 MEM values for this GPU. The power consumption will be higher when you set higher MEM values.

Would be better if OP can drop the hashrate difference of these RX5700XT, I'm sure the difference of the samsung memory won't be much compare to the micron memory gpu and if the difference is much we will know which one to avoid when shopping for RX5700XT gpu

Do you have a procedure you used to flash the bios.  I want to investigate flashing my 5700 xt, but need some guidance on where to get started.

Many modern miners give excellent results without flashing the BIOS of these video cards
