You know if it's for crypto enthusiasts and it's implementable, of course, it's mostly in favor of people like us who are crypto lovers. But for Twitter users, I think this is not good news for them.

And if this implementation happens, a large number of Twitter followers will surely stop using it and look for another social media platform that doesn't mind paying a monthly fee.

And from what I have seen, it is supported by billionaires around the world and the chances of this happening are high because binance itself also supports it and so on. But I hope this proposal of Elon Musk will change. Because even if only 1/4 of the 110M followers on Twitter are left, MUSK will still get a lot of income every month because his total profit on Twitter is around 220M$ from the 27.5M followers that are left all over the world.

Taking $8/month  is not so high for legit companies to update their followers on what they are up to. Millions of companies including celebrities willing to verify accounts than have tons of fake accounts concocting them.

Musk has not yet said anything about Doge for Twitter payment yet but a lot of Doge fan awaits for a word about it while buying millions of it already. Seem we have expected too much.

Elon bought something and it must also give something to him. I started to see so many complaints about that whici is understandable caused by they hate to pay a few dollars for monthly subscription which is a shame. I guess twitter's traffic was also getting helped by the bots.

I can imagine how many people from third countries will think about that. Im sure they will be going to go out from twitter too. I will support this idea caused by for the real people and it would be quite cheap but not for bots in twitter.

I think this is a form of greed and he is starting to be controlled by greed, but maybe he doesn't implement this for fear of losing users

I could see influencers and companies being willing to pay for the service as they are making more money out of the platform than those 8 dollars, but for the average person this is something they are not going to be willing to pay.

And this is because not only social media websites spy on your every more and gather every single data point they can about you, now you will need to pay for the privilege? Forget it, even if 8 dollars per month is not a huge sum, I can think of several ways in which I can enjoy my 8 dollars way more than by verifying a Twitter account.

Elon Musk is investing huge amounts of money just to acquire this and no surprise this could also be a medium to make money from growing social media users. But I don't think $8 is a satisfying amount need to pay as we are talking about it monthly. Well, we don't know what he is thinking actually but I know many people won't support that system and prioritize paying monthly just to engage in social media and paying $8 without having any return from it. Just my own opinion...

Of course verified twitter users are likely to pay it and it shouldnt be burden to them since most of verified users are probably someone who has great subs and even monetized through advertising or whatever form. Mostly the influencers are the one got verified. Elon is quiet sneaky implementing this even though this is an additional expenses, for sure there will be a lots of changes. He is a smart guy and he definitely know what to do.

The idea of paying 8$ every month is pretty messed up for those who aren't crypto lover, but I understand what this man is trying to build here, this will make crypto very useful, in general it will help crypto grow up in coming years but...what about those that are using twitter for other reasons like keeping in touch with family and friends? Isn't it obvious though, but for sure, majority of us are very disappointed if Musk insists that the use base of Twitter will have to pay this much money.

I guess there could be mass exodus, and I guess this is a bad business decision by Musk.

He needs to find way to make money here, but not to the expense of the million of Twitter accounts. Of course, there are twitter users who monetized their brand and name in that platform, but what about those who are just using it to check for news and stuff?

Goodbye to bots I guess. I'd reckon it'd be okay for people who need the verification badge to pay especially since Twitter does accommodate a huge number of users so the influence there is pretty big. It probably wouldn't work out for some small-time influencers though but big-time ones shouldn't mind it. It also paints an additional layer of guarantee that the account is legit for their followers so it's a pretty cheap price imo. If it goes past that though then things might become different.

From Elon's tweet as well it seems like there's still various benefits added to the monthly charge, so I reckon it's all good.

I think there's some type of confusion here regarding what Elon wants to do. Verified Twitter accounts are ones that have the blue badge in their name, basically guaranteeing their identity or something similar to that. Regular users can still browse Twitter without any limitations, that "Verification" tag is only for users who aim to let their fanbase know that they're real and that it's not a scam.

I feel good that Elon Musk has finally bought Twitter and is going to charge an $8 monthly fee. But along with paying the monthly fee to use the platform, it will also feature a verification system to eliminate bots and fake profiles.

I personally do not have an issue with rich people paying $96 a year for Twitter verification. This will be good for celebrities, politicians, athletes, and social media influencers because it will allow them to see who is really following their Twitter accounts. Having verification to access Twitter will also help reduce and clean up spam.

I don’t think I’ll pay it because I don’t care less about being verified on Twitter. I just use it as a great news source, I have close to 1600 followers which is not enough to bother being verified for.

The best part about this whole thing is it will stop the bots.
I do also enjoy the tears from the left, it’s made me smile.

As an individual, no, I would not pay eight $8 dollars per month for a twitter verification. I am hardly ever on twitter and I dont see a reason to have a twitter verification.
As for a business standpoint, twitter should release a beta and see what happens. I still have some doubts of what Elon Musk has mad promises in having a twitter verification.
