Personally I've considered XRP useless since 2018 and therefore never invested nor traded in this asset, partly due to the reasons mentioned in OP, but otherwise due to the selling pressure from Jed McCaleb. However I just realised that
Jed has finished his 8-year long dumping spree that has suppressed price for so long as represented 18.6% of the supply, but I fail to see why there are so many investors bullish about this shitcoin.
XRP also has been in a downtrend since 2018 against Bitcoin and more or less only moved sideways for the past 2 years.
