Oklahoma City was the best team in the Western Conference during the regular season. So far in their best-of-seven series against the New Orleans Pelicans, OKC is showing why some believe they can upset the Nuggets and win the conference. Heading into Game 3 in New Orleans, the Thunder are a -1.5 favorite to take an insurmountable 3-0 lead. Will the Pels rally and score their first playoff victory? Or will the Thunder keep rolling? Why bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder?
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a finalist for the NBA MVP. After a couple of games, we can see why. In Game 1, Shai dropped 28 points to lead the Thunder to a 94-92 victory.

Game 2 got away from the Pelicans. But in Game 1, New Orleans almost pulled off the upset victory. New Orleans backcourt of CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy III played great ball.

McCollum dropped 20 with 6 assists and 3 boards. Murphy scored 21 with 4 boards and 2 assists. Now back on their court, Murphy and McCollum should control the pace of the game from the outset, which will help New Orleans gain an edge over their rivals.

I'd be with OKC on this match up and proceed to the next match. Yes of course homecourt advantage will be a factor but they're all pro at this. SGA have proven himself enough to bag the victory. However, I do think that Pelicans will at least be able to prevent a sweep victory given that there are McCollum and Trey as mentioned, who also showed good performance on Game 2. Scores aren't that far and gap isn't that big so I think it would be reasonable to say that in Game 3, Pelicans might be able to get it but not the match up against OKC. Pelicans without Zion is tough for the franchise. I actually believe that they will have a chance with him being on the playoffs however as reports have stated, his left hamstring strain hasn't fully recovered yet which is really a struggle for the team.

Looks like it's the same story in game 2, Thunder now is leading by 15 points with less than a minute before the first half is over. Losing Zion was really huge, the Pelicans chance was on game 1 but they didn't make it, so now the young team had already gain a lot of confidence and they start dominating the Pelicans now. I'm not sure if they will be able to come back in the 2nd half, but this team aren't really good at home as they loss to the Lakers twice which that team are currently 0-3 vs the Nuggets.
