Looking at the museum website I see no mention of the now defunct Bitmine.ch and their (crappy) CoinCraft miners nor the A1 chips in it that they developed with Innosilicon. While Bitmine.ch totally blew their miner design using it due to incompetent engineering, the A1 became rather legendary as it was used in the wildly successful Dragon miners built in early 2014.

Thanks for sharing some history. We have the LKETC dragon that used the A1 chip on our "wish list" but the reason you don't see it on the site is because we haven't found one (for a  half decent price) yet.

Every miner you see on the site is physically owned by @TheCoinDad, though we plan on adding more information and historical facts about the bitcoin ASIC landscape. The good, the bad, and how it got to where it is now.

These USB miners are too old, there are better ones now with more Terahash mining power, I think people are still doing this hoping to hit the lottery one day, and so far few people have been lucky since 2020, since these USB miners are not taking so much power to run I think it won't hurt plugging in your wall and let them run.

I will start running few USB miners in 2025 or after this almost over bull market, maybe I can be lucky some day, if your electricity is cheap or you have access to solar power these USB miners are perfect.

It could be true that people might still be using those 333 MH/s miners as a "lottery" style mining. Even though it doesn't make any sense, i.e. you could use much more efficient but still cheap miners that are not as obsolete as those ones, but if you happen to already have one (or more) of them, just plugging it in once in a while just for fun, i.e. while you're working on your pc/laptop, won't cause any harm.
I don't think anyone would buy them just for that purpose though. If there are any buyers willing to pay the price as shown in the first posts, they definitely buy them for their collectible/sentimental value, not to actually mine with them.

I never sell anything.  My USB ASICminer Block Erupter's are now an art piece sitting on a shelf in my office.  It makes for great conversation.



My Bitmain USB miners are actually still in use as lottery miners.

I also have the a few USB scrypt miners (circular gridseed miners) that I need to dust off.  If I'm not mistaken, I may also have one of a stick USB dual miner.  Somewhere in storage I also have a few ASICminer blades that were never used.  Then 2 of those circular rock miners that never worked for me.

I had only one of them and was mining mostly for fun not profit. I was at the Slush pool too and later at Eligius (or before, it was a long time ago and memory fails me). It took a while to mine that minimum BTC0.01 withdrawal threshold but I made it. Happy days.
I regret not going heavier on mining (or just not buying more bitcoins), but I can't turn back the time.
