I just read the post by the admin stating that mixers will be banned on the forum from January 1. Considering that mixers and casinos seem to be the biggest advertisers here, I foresee a drop in revenue for the forum.
The forum does not depend on  advertisers. The forum will continue without mixers smoothly. Why is this even a topic? Do you think it was an easy decision for Theymos to take?

The way I see it, it implies that the government is still in charge of the direction Bitcoin moves. If they cannot control Bitcoin, they can move against the appurtenances of the cryptocurrency: mixers, exchanges, who knows... even this forum, etc.
There are other forums where mixers can be advertised, and some of them are already considering a move there.

But they're making money from the forum?
Not anymore. The banner ads have been stopped for a very long time ago and that's how the forum makes money for funding the continuous run of the domain and server (CMIIW).

The collected funds from the advertisers before with the auctioned banner ads is where they're getting all the funds for the expenses that they're going to use to make the forum keep running.

The Sanction On Mixers Would Make This Forum Boring

I see that you are relatively new in this forum. Before you make such statements in the forum, you should be able to ask how boring was the forum before the arrival of mixers? I want to assure you that the mixers have added nothing to the forum, even the quality posters that are found in these mixer campaigns have been in the forum before the arrival of mixers campaigns. So if mixer campaigns are finally banned, those quality posters will migrate to other campaigns. What then is your point?

Considering that mixers and casinos seem to be the biggest advertisers here, I foresee a drop in revenue for the forum.

Mixers do not accrue any kind of money to the forum, rather they are only getting help from forum for their promotions. The weekly campaign payments are for forum participants and not for the forum, therefore their exit will not affect the forum.

Forum will not be losing much as it was not making money but yeah it members of this forum will be losing a a great earning opportunity as mixers were the highest paying signature campaigns and it would be difficult for them to adjust with other campaigns if they are used to those higher pay per post. But I have seen some campaigns possibly moving to other forums like altcointalk but they might not get same payout considering the traffic.

I would say we should move on and let's not put this forum under radar of watchdogs as it's better to take precautionary steps especially what happened with sinbad mixer.

What do you think?

A year or two ago, the mixers weren't popular here at all and casinos were dominant when it comes to the bitcoin signature campaigns.
So now if the mixers are banned on this forum, nothing much will change in terms of getting the forum bored or Interesting. Also, the revenue of the forum will not drop but maybe the people earning from campaigns may have to wait a bit before they are adjusted into casino campaigns.

By the way, bitcoin is not limited to mixers only, there is still a lot to discuss about bitcoin and bitcoin related services on this forum.

The forum was never reliant on Mixers to exist, The influx in mixer advertisement on the forum
only started when Chipmixer went down which left a void which in turn was filled by numerous
other mixer services. The forum isnt going to die a death because there wont bbe any more
banner ads.

There will still be discussion about those services and I doubt there will be many people leaving
the forum because there are no visible advertisements from mixing services.

As far as I know, the forum doesn't make any money out of mixers and casinos, users do, thanks to the signature campaigns. I don't like this decision either but I can understand the reasons behind this choice since there is an actual possibility that the forum could be bladed to encourage and/or support mixers that may have something to do with money laundering. Of course the forum is way more important than some users making money out of the campaigns. We'll see what is going to happen, I expect less active users in the incoming months.

That is similar to what happened to Binance action to delisting some of the Cryptos and the sports trading sites.
I seems to believe that there are some underground incursions the forum and related platforms with related occurances does not want to reveal to the public.
Could either be that they are trying to maintain a possible good state of mental healths amongst its users then decided not to make the reality reasons of their actions a public note
But one thing is sure that a technical and brainstorming personel would always insight something phishy even if it is just an exaggeration.

Forum admins or the forum does not make money from these campaigns. It's the forum members who make some money from their signature campaign.
If I am not mistaken, the OP meant to say that he read about an Admins post (which I believe it is one of the icons updates that was recently displayed at the top of the forums index) about Mixer going to be  opt-out from this forum which is served as one of the famous campaigns here in the forum.
That could be why he used the word "boring" because it is going to limit the scales (rates) by which the campaign participants are benefited from.
