the fake metamask ad looks the same as the ad on this
thread that wasposted earlier this month. you'd assume X(formerly known as Twitter) would auto-block ads like this since a same-looking ad has been advertised on their platform before and has been removed(at least I think so) and the account that posted the ad has been banned, but I guess as long as they get money from the ad they don't care.
I can also see they are the same, not only with the thread link you shared but also with some other scam airdrop notifications that they do send through email and other means of communication that they always target using popular wallets that they know people make use of. I also believe they are not just some random people doing this, but a group of people operating both different social media accounts and posting these ads set by set.
And of course, X won't disable it unless there is much of a report regarding the ads, as I don't think they have the time to check through the ads before they approve them for promotion. Meta is also a victim of such popular scam ads, but it's more on X.
