I've used an Android electrum wallet forever and accidentally updated it (version 4.5.1). Now I have no idea how to send funds. It partially signs and requests a co-signer and I cannot get past this point. I don't see any documentation addressing this so I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking but I'm wasting a ton of time and hoping someone can just point me in the right direction.

A transaction can be partially signed, if you are using a multi-signature wallet.

If your wallet is m of n multi-signature wallet and m is greater than 1, you have to provide more than 1 signature for each of UTXOs you are trying to spend. So, your transaction is partially signed and it needs to be singed by cosigner(s) as well. To do so, you should export the partially signed transaction and import it to the cosigner wallet.

From which version was it previously?
Is the wallet MultiSig, 2FA or Standard, Watch Only?
Do you have other wallets in "Wallet Icon (upper-left)->Other Wallets"?

Based from the question alone, is seems like an issue of familiarity with the new UI?
If so, you can share the PSBT (Partially Signed Bitcoin Transaction) to the cosigner via "Share" button.
However, if the cosigner is using an old version that doesn't support PSBT, it wont be able to co-sign it.

There's also a newer version v4.5.2: https://electrum.org/#download
Try if the issue will persist in that version.

It was not an accident the update, it occurs automatically and happened on January 19, 2024, in effect you have the  last version 4.5.1, So, check that you have version 6 of android or higher.

If it is not the above, Uninstall it and directly download the new version (play store) and check the APP permits. Verify that it in effect has the correct version and that it corresponds. Take the corresponding forecasts since it may be putting your btc at risk.

Electrum wallet does not update automatically, you have to update it yourself and you can also manually download any version of Electrum you want. Take note that 4.5.1 is not the newest version, Electrum's latest release is 4.5.2.
If it is not the above, Uninstall it and directly download the new version (play store) and check the APP permits. Verify that it in effect has the correct version and that it corresponds. Take the corresponding forecasts since it may be putting your btc at risk.
Download Electrum only from the original website and not from anywhere else. Op's wallet seems to be a multisig wallet and if they could use the wallet and understand how to send coins in previous versions, they should still be able to do it now, with the new update.

android electrum updates automatically. you don't download android electrum from electrum.org. instead you install it using the playstore.

I also use Electrum on android, and it does not update automatically on my device, maybe it is due to different settings on our devices, i update my Electrum manually on my android device when there is a new update. I also download Electrum from the official website on android, what do you mean by you 'instead install it using the playstore'?

I also use Electrum on android, and it does not update automatically on my device, maybe it is due to different settings on our devices,
Google Playstore's default setting is to auto-update apps if the device is connected to WiFi.
It's accessible in "Playstore's Setting->expand: Network Preferences->Auto-update apps"
So Electrum will automatically update if that setting isn't disabled and if Electrum is installed from the Playstore.
Otherwise, it wont.

Yes, the android binaries downloaded from the electrum.org wont update automatically either.
(might result with "couldn't update" if Playstore tries to update it to a different variant, it may update if similar but I don't want to try)

In OP's case, it's normal for users to accidentally click "Update all" when checking for updates in PlayStore.
Or he just fat-fingered "Update" button.

We're slightly off-topic though since the main issue isn't the cause of his "accidental update".
And he didn't answer any of the questions.
