Why are you buying illiquid tokens on dex, they always ends up been dumped and worthless tokens with low buy order, also since uniswap mostly lists ERC 20 based token, do you think you can cover up the Ethereum fee.

I just checked some tokens on coingecko. They are green but for some reason whenever I try to buy the tokens on uniswap, I get the message "Insufficient liquidity". I even messaged support and they told me there wasn't liquidity. They stated afterwards that it is always possible to buy illiquid tokens. They did'nt tell me how I can do that however...
This should already be the reasons why you shouldn't bother getting illiquid tokens, they already a dumbed market with low buy order that'll probably never get filled up. It's best you look out for more liquidated assets for your own good.
Just above your post, he already said the reason for it. Iliquid tokens seems already been dumped, so I think he shouldn't worry about that and maybe they will be pumped by someone else ex. Whales. This could be the reason on why the OP wants them. If not, there is still a chance or a risk for these tokens to get de-listed on the exchange. He is planning to buy before, though IDK if it was successful or not, but the point is that he seems to not care about the high fee.

If you are the ones who are buying the token, the order should went thru as long as you agree about the price. @OP have you tried the Currency exchange section of our forum? Or you can also try inquiring at the Marketplace (Altcoins).

Hello,
I tried to buy many tokens on uniswap but it turned out most of them are illiquid.

It looks like illiquid tokens can always be bought but there might be problems with selling them later.

So I'd like to ask: How can I always buy illiquid tokens that aren't listed on exchanges? Is it possible on uniswap or do I have to change platform? I don't mind waiting hours to get my order filled btw.

P.S: I understand the risks well. And so if I'd ever do it, I will know how to manage my risk...

Thank you!

I'm trying to comprehend why you want to buy illiquid tokens. There is something you need to understand with uniswap tokens that are illiquid. When they are listed, most of the time investors dump the coins, so it's either they take away the liquidity such as Ethereum and Usdt and the dump the tokens until no tangible liquidity left on the pool and when you want to sell the coins, it's becomes a problem and if the team doesn't top the liquidity, it's remain illiquid forever until someone buy the coin but you might not be able to sell back if the liquidity is small in the pool.

As for illiquid tokens, why not buy coins that aren't listed yet instead of putting yourself into traps that will get you where you don't expect. I don't think a coin will be listed in uniswap as mistake, it's always listed for trading and when they are illiquid, is either the team doesn't add the liquidity or it's drain up. In addition, you should be aware that even scammers can list any contract without adding any liquidity, they make you buy and you wouldn't be able to sell the coins, be extra careful of such activities on uniswap and other decentralized exchanges.

Yes, I am putting very small amounts of money as a test. I am trying to test a strategy so I can't make my mind about the fees, scam etc yet. I am completely new to crypto but I understand the principles of trading (Day trading, swing trading, investing, fundamental and technical analysis, price action etc) but I don't understand many specific things regarding crypto

I didn't post in those threads because I considered the object of this thread to be different

If investors are doing it, then maybe I can do the same (Buy the tokens before they are listed then sell them at the time they are selling them after listing).
I am not planning to put huge sums of money into such a strategy. As I said, I am still new and backtesting. If the token has specific fundamentals, then it can be a good bet as there will be enough demand. But still, the strategy isn't decided yet. I am searching for one and thus I may need to explore. I might find an extraordinary strategy or I might find nothing despite a potenital 30h research into tokens..

I swapped yesterday around 10USD of BNB for a token (TANKIN) and the swap was successful.

However, my wallet doesn't show the new token in my assets' list and my wallet portfolio was reduced by 10USD. Is this normal? What could have happened?

Yes, there's no need to worry. In order for the coin to be displayed in the wallet, you need to add the TANKIN coin contract to the wallet. Since the Tankin coin is located in the BSC network, it is necessary to use https://www.bscscan.com  in order to find and copy the coin contract.

Typically, illiquid tokens are sold on little-known centralized exchanges or not very popular decentralized ones. There are a huge number of low-liquidity coins, for example, on Pancakeswap. But why buy them? Just because they can give a lot of X's in a moment? Yes, it will be fun, but the situation when you cannot sell your coin reserves due to insufficient liquidity on the exchange is quite sad. I used to have a lot of low-liquid coins. Gradually I came to the conclusion that it was not worth doing them. They are not even worth your time. There are now a lot of highly capitalized altcoins that are quite volatile. And Bitcoin is now showing miracles of volatility. Selling Bitcoin to buy low-liquid coins is like shooting yourself in the foot.
