Bitcoin investment as at today.

As part of my speculative motive, I consulted one of my lecturer who is good in cryptocurrency that I wanted to invest in crytocurrency as he has been advising us back then in school. He suggested that I should buy other coins and keep that the bull run is around d corner due to bitcoin halving. After buying some coins for me, he did not buy bitcoin which was my primary target. When I told him that I was more interested in bitcoin, he told me that I'm already coming late that I would have done that around August last year meaning that the price is already high and for me to buy 1 bitcoin, I will need  more than a million. I was shock that if 1btc is more than #1m. Then how come many people have btc investments.
Now I want to know if all he has said is true.
