While I was reading the topic "Newbies - Read before posting" one point seemed interesting to me and the point is "Signing a message". Then I started reading the topic "How to sign a message?" But the problem is that there are instructions about creating the signing message of almost many wallets. But I did not find any information about Binance. I don't know if it is possible or not to create a signed message with Binance. If possible then how to do it? I am talking about Binance because I am familiar with this wallet.

You can only do sign message on non custodial wallet such as electrum wallet. Binance is an exchange and not a non custodial wallet which means you can’t do the sign message with their wallets.

You can use this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0 as reference on how to sign a message.

I'm pretty sure you can't create signed messages with literally any custodial exchange. While technically the custodial exchanges can do it because they have the keys to the exchange's wallet addresses that you're using, their systems are simply not designed for that.

You can't create signed messages using custodial wallets because to sign message, you need your keys created by your wallets for you and exchange wallets are custodial, and centralized which means they hold they keys to your wallets. Not your key not your coins.

I don't know if it is possible or not to create a signed message with Binance. If possible then how to do it? I am talking about Binance because I am familiar with this wallet.

Binance isn't a wallet mate don't get it confused. It's an exchange and a centralized one at that. You may want to do some research on what the difference is between Centralized and non centralized exchanges. You should avoid using exchanges to store your coins as they have full control over your wallet. Anything can happen at anytime and your coins might be lost. So it's an exchange and doesn't have the ability to do some other functions a real non custodian wallet can perform.

I am talking about Binance because I am familiar with this wallet.
Based on your statement, I guess you are one of those who see Binance as a sort of bank where you you can safely store your crypto without fear, while in reality it couldn't be further from the truth as you get no protection from anyone in case they go down.
So yeah, please use your own non-custodial wallet to store your bitcoin and to be able to sign a message.

It is not only on custodial exchanges that you can not sign a message, you can not sign a message also on custodial wallet. If the person is not having the private key of the wallet, or not having the seed phrase that can produces the private key, the person can not sign a message. That is why noncustodial wallet is important but not all noncustodial wallets can also sign a message, they are only few that can do that. Like Electrum, Bluewallet and some other ones.

Signed messages are proof that you the owner of a public key and the only way to sign a message is to own the private key.
So how can you send signed messages of an address that's not your own
This is why it is emphasised "Not your Keys Not your coins "
The true owners of coins held in an an exchange are the exchange itself.
So they might be able to send a signed message but you a user of their exchange can't.
It's like buying(paying for)  a land and leaving all the necessary documents with the seller
There's no way you can show evidence you are the true owner if the land without the necessary documents.

Am I the only one who thinks that OP is not talking about the Binance exchange but the Binance chain? I bet this is the case.

I am also curious, I will like to ask the audience, is it possible to use any non custodial wallet to sign messages?

Or let me put it this way, apart from Bitcoin and it's non-custodial wallets, are the signing of messages possible on other blockchains, altcoins, or projects if they are on a non custodial wallet?

I asked because till date I've never tried it elsewhere.

Thank you.
