Everyone here can vouch for Electrum but I would want to believe that Bitcoin Core is also safe? May someone list the differences as to why it is better?

Thank you! Smiley

I hope everyone here lives a great life.

They're both as safe as your computer is. If your computer is compromised, it really doesn't matter which (software) wallet you're using.

The main differences are:

- Electrum is lightweight and doesn't require downloading the full blockchain.
- Electrum support 2FA (comes with a fee).
- You can connect your hardware wallet (Keystone, Ledger, trezor) to Electrum. It's not as easy with bitcoin core.

For bitcoin core, here are a few reason on why would one use it: https://river.com/learn/what-is-bitcoin-core/
