While most people agree that Israel and Lebanon reside in west Asia, they are technically on the African plate and could be considered Northern African Countries.

Recall, “remembering their painful past at the hands of more powerful enemies”. Israel has most of its history being in the hands of foreign powers….from Egypt to Babylon, to Persia, to Greeks, to Roman etc.

They tend to lay more emphasis on the fact that, the Greek Rift Valley is located East to Israel, some call it the Syrian-African rift. The Jordan river and the Dead Sea separates it from the rest of the Asia.
Geographically,it kind of making more sense actually,so it’s not part of Europe for sure.

Palestine nowadays refers to the territory of Israel and Palestinian Authority (ie) Gaza and Jorden, though this place counts as part of Asia.
Now that being said, while the Jews and the Israelis are undoubtedly an Afro-Asiatic people,Israel does struggle with a bit of an Identity crisis.

It was quite unfortunate that, the Israeli ruling class…..the likes of of Ben Gurion and Bennet all they wanted was how to Europeanice Israel, and turn it into a secular European Country.
