Hello everyone,

I am in need of help to locate a dependable web hosting service that offers minimal downtime at a reasonable cost. I manage a currency exchange website (The platform is relatively small, consisting of only an electronic currency exchange and a few wordpress sites...) and require hosting for multiple one page websites under one account.

I have faced challenges with my current hosting provider due to a recent change in the shared hosting IP, causing almost 8 hours of downtime each day.

I no longer wish to continue with shared hosting. For any recommendation my monthly budget ranges from $29 or 50 to $70. I am not well versed in technical matters and my developer does not explain such details to me.

Previous shared hosting statistics:

- Email Accounts: 16 / 25 (64%)
- Addon Domains: 12 / 34 (35.29%)
- Databases: 8 / 25 (32%)
- FTP Accounts: 4 / 20 (20%)
- Disk Usage: 5.54 GB / 97.66 GB (5.67%)
- Database Disk Usage: 98.28 MB / 92.22 GB (0.1%)
- Bandwidth: 581.81 MB / 976.56 GB (0.06%)
- Subdomains: 12 / ∞
- Alias Domains: 0 / ∞
- Mailing Lists: 0 / 10 (0%)
- Autoresponders: 1 / ∞
- Forwarders: 9 / ∞
- Email Filters: 0 / ∞
- CPU Usage: 0 / 100 (0%)
- Entry Processes: 0 / 80 (0%)
- Physical Memory Usage: 0 bytes / 2 GB (0%)
- IOPS: 0 / 4,096 (0%)
- I/O Usage: 0 bytes/s / 4 MB/s (0%)

We need to know your requirements. As in:

- How many servers are you running
- The operating systems, CPU, memory and disk configurations of your current systems (I think this will get you better recommendations than trying to explain your project requirements)
- Whether you need 1Gbit connections or will more or less be suitable
- If you run VPS or dedicated
- If you need more things besides just servers, like backups, domain names and so forth.

Are you looking for shared hosting or a VPS? Personally, i'd advice you to at least go for a VPS, it's much easyer when hosting multiple domains and a tad bit more complex setups.
When i turned off my dedicated hardware, i started renting a couple vps's @ nohavps, so far they haven't let me down (but i'm not affiliated with them, so i cannot give any guarantees).

Ofcourse, if you don't buy a shared hosting package, you'll have to install a lamp stack yourself, aswell as other dependencies and hardening... But when hosting multiple domains, the extra effort you have to put in can be well worth it.

If you run a big platform, it might even be better to go for a dedicated server... That way the provider cannot overload the host.

Ok, so it looks like you use shared hosting. Since I mainly use VPSes and dedicated servers, I can't give you a specific recommendation on shared hosting providers due to the lack of experience (just avoid the shared hosting offers offered by any registrar such as Namecheap and stuff like that, since I heard they are not very reliable).

But I can tell you one service you should not use, and that is Hostinger. Stay away from them because I notice that my site hosted on it experiences downtime from time to time.

You didn't share much professional details about this and you wouldn't be able to do this yourself even if I give you recommendations, so you'll need your developer guy to attend it, or you PM me for further talks.

I can see you've 12 addon domains,  12 sub domains  which means that each domain has a possible sub domain, 6 email accounts tied to six addon domains. Your bandwidth shows you don't have much activity on the sites.

If the single page apps are developed in Angular, Vue or React you can host them on render.com or netlify. Host the  server side code on render.com, using Mongodb paid databases if you need more storage or the free plan if storage is less You can use cloudinary to store Images so you've enough space on your Mongodb. To eliminate little downtime on render.com servers, use paid package, their offers are nice and if you're not so bouyant to pay for subscription, there's a workaround I can do for you for the servers to ping themselves and never experience a downtime.

You can host the WordPress websites on Name cheap, their first time offers are great and also host your email accounts there, once you buy a shared hosting, you can host multiple email accounts.

The addon domains can be on namecheap and their DNS made to point at  Netlify  servers so it works like normal with the domain name of your choice. Netlify has faster servers that makes your single page applications more efficient.

The currency exchange system was built using core PHP and Wordpress platforms for a few blogging purposes....

Does the Namecheap dedicated server function effectively? I see the price commence from $49...

My developers are unable to assist me as they are not employed on a permanent basis.

I sincerely thank you for your time and valuable contribution.

I highly appreciate them.

Thank you very much. Is a cpanel included with the dedicated server? With this cpanel, I would be able to access my email without needing to be tech savvy.

That means it was built with Laravel Framework, Namecheap can be a good choice for you, it has a server that can host Laravel frameworks if its the case.
You can still have access to your cPanel from Namecheap, but you would need to point the DNS of the addon domains from the provider to namecheap if you finally decide to use it, then create the subdomains again and host your WordPress websites there too. I worked with it for three years until last year and didn't observe any much down time, so I think its a good fit.
Good luck friend.

Don't use Namecheap servers, you should get a VPS from RoyaleHosting instead since they are much more flexible with pricing and configuration.

https://royalehosting.net/

Or if you insist on getting a dedicated server, you can use https://hostingby.design, prices start at €35 or so and you get a much more specced server than generic domain registrars have.

However they don't come with add-ons or cPanel. But I know a list of hosting providers who do, if you give me a minute to find the link I'll pull it up for you.

(I am not affiliated with any of those, just a customer)

Edit: as promised, here is the list: https://bitcoin-vps.com/

If that is the case, your options are unfortunately limited. Some members have suggested using a VPS or a dedicated web hosting server, which are generally good choices for websites needing more resources and reliable hosting.  However, these options require dedicated technical staff and administration of the server. Even if you install cPanel software to manage most functions, some administration tasks will still require command-line knowledge.

If you ve been happy with your current shared hosting plan, then sticking with shared hosting might be the best way to go. But this time, pick a provider that offers premium shared plans alongside their basic options. These premium packages typically are on servers with more resources and fewer users and , translating to better performance and minimizing downtime. Remember, though, no provider can guarantee zero downtime. The best you can expect is a potential refund for the affected month if the outage exceeds what their terms of service specify.

I have gone through the list you sent, but I'm still contemplating. The server is back now after 15 hours, but the webmail won't open; it's timing out with an error from Cloudflare (Host
Error A timeout occurred Error code 524
Visit cloudflare.com for more information.
2024-06-07 13:41:34 UTC). My issue is that I'm not familiar with how VPS and dedicated servers work. I need something like cPanel where I can access my emails, view the number of domains, make changes on Wordpress, and also view the file manager files without coding. I'm not skilled in writing command codes, and we are still a small business without the financial means to hire a permanent IT department.

Anyway, thanks for your advice and effort; it's truly invaluable. May the Lord bless you and reward you.

I will follow your advice and continue with shared hosting due to my lack of proficiency in writing command codes. Since we are a small business without the financial means to hire a permanent IT department, this seems like the best choice.

Could you please advise me on how to locate a provider that offers premium shared plans alongside their basic options as advised by you?

Thanks once again for your advice and effort; it's truly invaluable. May the Lord bless you and reward you.

Does the Namecheap dedicated server function effectively? I see the price commence from $49...

My developers are unable to assist me as they are not employed on a permanent basis.

Yes they are, Namecheap is one of the industry giants, they have great dedicated support and they have tutorials on all configurations you can do it through their tutorials or ask the support to do it for you since you have a lot of domains and you have not experience how is it to be hosted on Namecheap, why not transfer one of your domain there and use the shared hosting they have a Cpanel for all their plans so you can differentiate the service.
All I know is that Namecheap offers a 100% uptime guarantee on the Stellar Plus up plans.

Unfortunately, I cant be much help with that.  The hosting company I currently use for a few low-traffic websites is overpriced for what it offers and not very reliable.  Honestly, I would not recommend it to anyone.  The problem is, Im just too lazy to move my website elsewhere right now.  Grin  The research I did on web hosting deals a few years back is outdated by now.  All those deals are probably no longer valid.

However, I can point you in the right direction! Check out specialized forums like webhostingtalk.com. You will find tons of current hosting offers, recommendations for good hosting providers.  Plus, you can ask your question directly on the forum.

Actually a shared web hosting cant always be reliable, due to server being shared with other users, a VPS is better, but still its a virtual private server, a fully dedicated hardware node is always the best and most reliable choice for hosting, so if you ever want to get a trouble free with 100% utilization of the resources and a dedicated server you can check it here: https://zakservers.com/offshore-dedicated-servers.php as a plus point BTC is also accepted along with a few other crypto currencies too, and support is 24/7/365 with live chat too.

Zakservers.com: Offshore dedicated servers with 15 offshore locations choice, BTC and Crypto accepted, 24/7/365 customer support.
