Some may refer this thread to be a Merit phishing thread but sometimes we should look beyond the rank of a poster and deliberate things in a more real and clear situation.

You all can agree with me that since December 2023, the activity/activeness of forum members here have been declining due to one of these factors;

⏺️lack of quality threads more especially those relating to Bitcoin discussions.

⏺️Lack of Reliable and Reputable signature campaigns

⏺️The ban that was placed on some signature campaign companies in the forum and some others.

Now, what has been keeping the forum moving is the activeness of some merit sources that have been distributing merits to quality posts in recent times, so I want to commend the top 9 Most generous merit senders, all time of:
LoyceV,
 El duderino_,
 fillippone,
 ABCbits,
 suchmoon,
 JayJuanGee,
 hugeblack,
 DdmrDdmr,
 Symmetrick,
 vapourminer.

These high profile users have been keeping the forum active in merit circulation and I commend them for their generosity more especially the 7 Most generous recent merit senders of:

 El duderino_,
ABCbits,
LoyceV,
klarki,
 fillippone,
  JayJuanGee.

Note: The reason for creating the merit system was to stand as a prerequisite that will affirm a quality post therefore, if we are seeing more merit circulation in the forum it means that quality posts are being made gradually so it is a commendable development and it will also quicken and motivate users to be engaged in more quality and productive posts.

However, the application of more merit sources have been coming in recent times so if more merit sources becomes active in merit distribution, it will help cover the lapses and inactivity of other merit sources.

It's not actually.

Merit distribution depends on many factors

• Available merit sources and their available sourced sMerits.
• Existing quality posts
• Active time of merit sources and of course non merit sourced users too. You can not distribute merit as a merit source or a normal user, if you don't have time to log in and see what's going on
• If there is merit spree for Christmas, New Year, Forum events like 10 years anniversary, a spike in distributed merit does not mean post quality increases recently.

Secondly, the distribution of merit isn't the sole purpose of the forum. It's not also the reason why the forum's activity hasn't changed that much.

I agree with you that the forum activities have gone down since last year, We have seen so many important members of the forum leave the forum for some reasons which include health condition and personal reasons, and this is affecting the forum's activeness because the forum now relies on the quality content that have been in existance, and no enough new important threads.

But I failed to agree with you that there are no more reputable signature campaigns, even though I will partially agree that the ban of mixers affected the forum's activities.

Merit system was crated to defeat spam posting in the forum, and it has helped because the merit system has helped the forum to gain reputation and became the best forum when it comes to bitcoin and cryptocurrency related discussions.

The merit circulation we are crying for is because we hardly get merits even after creating threds, and so many beginners are finding it difficult  to rank up in the form.

their is some thread you create that will look like the objective of creating such thread based on to earn merit whereas you have another thing in mind, but let me be sincere to you, from the passage of your information I'm convinced that your objectives of creating this thread is base on merit phishing, people most of the people you listed is a merit sources, and it's obvious that's some people has been active in this community and also be innovative which you failed to mention, at least you need attached someone you know that is doing but is not in class of merit source.

The question is that do you know if someone is inactive in the community and is a merit will it be changed as a merit sources, so nobody know if Ratimov is not a merit sources or not since its not active, its only theymos that handle such matters and I think is in secret, because majority of people who is a merit sources today have not been listed anywhere that this particular user is a merit, people notice someone who a merit sources through the total number smerit he or she distribute weekly or monthly, you should not be surprised because their is every tendency that people you see as inactive user still receives their monthly smerit allocation through theymos, so we are exaggerating because we are not sure of this.

oh am not aware of this but don't you think he will come back to the forum in the future? Even when he is inactive, his contribution to the forum still exist except he committed a crime here or broke forum rules that led to his inactivity then it can reverse his positive contributions.

already I was expecting a reply like this that is why I said in the OP that some users will see my thread as a merit phishing thread of which you are among the users but am not surprised because I have noticed that any thread that has to do with merit thread created by a beginner is a always regarded as a merit phishing thread but I want you to know that this thread is not about merit phishing but just to commend the merit sources that have been active in circulation of merit across in the forum because not too many merit sources are active again in the forum from my findings.

I came across a thread sometime ago and I have been able to find the thread BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum so a poll was conducted and the percentage of users that prefers using BTT and BCT was 45%/43%. So the margin is not too high which means the both abbreviations can be used

In terms of what you quoted on lack of quality posts, he didn't make a mistake writing that the merit system helped many members to put in more efforts in building a quality content in the forum. I don't actually understand your point on his merit seeking thread statement. Since he mentioned it, then no need forcing it down his throat that it's a merit seeking post. The members he mentioned above are quite hardworking and actually try their best to motivate members towards continuously making quality posts. The forum however is not meant to fear over losing out members.

Members are free to exit the forum. Lots of real life factors can be the cause to that. It's hard to leave your friends behind in a forum just for lack of quality post. Such members who have left the forum, did so for the reason they'll tell us when they're back. If LEO (rip) didn't open up to the forum about his illness, what do you think people would say about his absence in the forum. you are right senior, actually I included "others" in the reasons why people have been walking out of the forum and of which due to some personal reasons just like you made mention of O_e_l_e_o farewell message about his health status before leaving the forum, sure there are others who got more committed to real life jobs and all that, some have gone to the world beyond and some are hoping to return someday so people will always come and go and it's obvious that we all cannot be entangled to the forum forever, a day will come when we all will bid the forum farewell either without being noticed or we inform forum members just like o_e_l_e_o and others

It's okay, on a normal sense the BCT makes the acronym more understandable like Bit-Coin-Talk but i wonder why most users voted for BTT more in the poll. This makes me also imagine why Bitcoin was not abbreviated as BC because when when break the words we have Bit-Coin (BC)

You are right that it is the duty of merit sources to distribute Merits to quality posts in the forum since they voluntarily choose to do so, now I want to ask you that is it everyone that have the zeal to render selfless service even when they choose to do so? Frankly, some of your points are not true and even conflicting, because if there are no quality threads why are merit sources meriting what you called quality posts which in most cases are new threads created?

Regardless, this is not the first time I've read some people finding excuses that the forum now lacks quality topics, but I disagree, the forum can't do more than it is doing now, and in my assessment, though post number may reduce a little, yet it is doing very well (all usual sections are active) except for a reduced campaign which was caused by the obvious reasons.

Also, we cannot deny that the forum is stretched already. A forum that has had a whole lot of quality discussions that doesn't allow repetition, do you think it is all the time such discussion will be coming on board, where will it be coming from? This is unless there are new events related to cryptocurrency and I do not think that such events often miss the radar of the forum.

For me, the forum is still very healthy like before.

Even if he committed a crime or scammed, it will not erase his positive contributions in the forum. The worse scenario would be that he will have a couple of negative tags to add to the already positive feedback or most of the positive feedbacks reversed.

But in the case of Symmetric, he on his own was deleting his positive contributions to the forum. Deleting important threads and comments in the forum. That act angered so many established forum users. However, his stats will still be in the forum for a long time.
