It is not actually that crazy or weird of you think a little about it, we as human beings are biologically trained to try to find patterns, even  when there are no patterns at all. For example, let us imagine that you started to gambled on slots everyday of the week and you noticed you have specially bad luck on Tuesdays, after a few weeks of gambling you should begin to consider thete is something "wrong" with gambling on that specific day of the week, and you would stop doing it, even though there is no logical explanation for you to do such a thing, as slots are random and there is no pattern to follow.
Haven't you heard there are gamblers who keep "charms" with them while they gamble? That is due to them wrongly recognizing a non-existant pattern of good luck when they have that "charm".

They are aware of that but in hopes that they can make some money through these said patterns, they won't stop and they won't let you do that because they are already decided that they should proceed and keep going. I don't usually play slots but I know it's more a game of luck and whenever I just feel lucky, I should do it and that's my pattern before playing it and not on the actual game play.

Well, that is happen in reality as that people really want to win from slot games. They don't even think that slot games is a gambling games based on the luck. They think that they will have a chance to win especially hit a big multiplier. So they follow the pattern and increase their bet.

We don't know when we win in slot games so that is the difficulty of playing slot. If we don't know how to treat slot games, we will only waste our money while we don't have a big chance to win. Perhaps, we can win small money but that will not always guarantee because we can lose all of the money anytime.

I don't agree with you except I don't completely understand what you mean, there are no known and precise patterns known to follow when playing slot games, and patterns also don't determine the fun in slot games generally, but on individual level, we can indeed say that some have mastered to only enjoy the game when they apply some pattern to it.

For some one like myself, I don't need any pattern to enjoy my slot game, and besides, there are also no known petterns that helps or increases ones chances of winning, so what exactly is the essence at the end of the day?

That's not a placebo effect.
A placebo effect would mean they would be winning based on some made-up strategy with no actual sense, just like how people start feeling better after taking a pill with only sugar in it. The placebo effect actually describes something working—these guys are just copying a made-up strategy and obviously end up losing.

Trying to find in randomness any kind of patterns (following made-up patterns, trying to develop strategies on randomness) is nothing fun. It's a sign of denial of reason. You could do that with a pen and paper without actually gambling for money but when you do it like this, not only do you lose money, but you also actually work trying to find a strategy liek you're in the office doing accouting work.

Just something I noticed in the past two days felt like everything was hitting. I was on a lucky streak! Even used my slot winnings to bet on NBA games, and hit a decent parlay, especially when OKC blew out the Nuggets.

But today? Total opposite. It’s like the machine just switched and chances of hitting felt super low. So I gave up for now.

There are no better patterns to follow when betting on slots, the only good thing is understanding that when you win at the initial time and you decide to go all in again it won't be as favourable as it was in the first place. That is good. At least, you know playing slot games need luck and we don't have much luck like others. But there is no pattern will help us to win because slot games is a gambling games based on the luck. So the probability to win will random and we can not guess when we will win. We can only keep trying to playing slot without knowing when we win and that cost much money especially if we can not control ourselves.
