eXch.cx does not keep logs, btw they already publicly proven that they are not cooperating with LE, and the user has the option of deleting all their data at the end of the order.

So I guess that when order data is deleted, there is nothing to give to them in the first place.

I still do not recommend using this method for anonymity purposes however, unless you are doing BTC <=> XMR. Because of the inherent risks of trusting a CEX (I mean, it's not trustless - you still have to take them by their word).

Maybe you need to try a Non-KYC exchange instead of Bybit as you mentioned in your OP. And I am not sure if Margex is even a real thing, never heard about it. Maybe a regional exchange? I would just stay away from something like that. And I am wondering, you said you bought BTC with Cash, so what more you wanna do here? Just stay with BTC, why even go for ETH?

@ImThour, the service exists, but there are also a lot of negative comments about the same on Reddit, for example. So when a newbie mentions such a CEX, I always wonder if his question is really a question, or just a bad way to promote something. In any case, I agree that all those unknown CEXs should be avoided at all costs.

Why are you making life difficult for yourself? Send BTC coins from the Electrum wallet to the Trust Wallet. And then make the exchange of BTC for ETH directly in the Trust Wallet itself. This way you will keep your privacy, as you will not have to interact with centralized exchanges.

I'm liking the Monero method.

I don't know much about Monero.

How's this plan of using Monero as an intermediary?

1 Split 0.5 BTC into 3 parts (0.2, 0.15, 0.15) across 3 Electrum addresses

2 Send BTC from these 3 addresses to 3 Wasabi addresses and conjoin (this step doesn't improve anonymity?)

3 Trade each part for Monero on CEX/DEX (any good DEX for this? checked Exch.ex and one can trade BTC for Monero)

4 For each part, send the traded Monero to a personal Monero wallet, and then send it to another personal Monero wallet for increased anonymity

5 Trade the Monero for ETH on CEX/DEX and send to an open-source hot wallet

I'll be using a VPN and Tor throughout the process. Can you review this plan and suggest improvements for maximizing anonymity,
such as using DEX instead of CEX, waiting between steps, or breaking up amounts?

If you want to achieve a complete anonymity, then you may have to stay away from centralized exchanges, if you don't know how to identify for one, then its something you could use this thread in reading what other members have previously explained concerning it.

Yes eXch is centralized exchange, but I have no idea what do you mean with ''public blockchain''.
Every cryptocurrency exchange needs to have transaction on blockchain, and you are sending and receiving coins on blockchain.
If you want to have no trace on blockchain than just use cash.

Monero sounds interesting.  Is it really untraceable?

Bybit now does KYC, so it's out of the options of a non KYC CEX, I feel this process is long and may not give complete anonymity, I would have recommended another but such has been band from this form due to some circumstances around it, as that has been the only case i have seem complete anonymity with. Other means could be from a wallet to another where by you don't need KYC as most CEX are now beginning to demand for.KYC, a cold storage wall and back to your trust wallet could help, but im not sure of complete anonymity.

I don't know that much about blockchain so I'm trying to learn.

I was under the impression that the exchange maintains its own internal ledger of user balances and transaction history. And that the transactions only exist within the exchange's own systems and databases, rather than being publicly visible on the public blockchain while the transactions on a DEX are recorded on the public blockchain.

So I thinking that by using a CEX, it would keep the transactions off the public blockchain.  And if CEX like eXch.cx really does delete user's data at the end of the order, it would further obscure the trail.

Purchase from the p2p exchange that I believe there is a lot from there you can use wallet that has coinjoin feature or at least mix your money through mixing that can be found in altcointalk and from there your money pretty much anonym.

If you want to exchange from bitcoin to other coin ex. eth than u can use another p2p there is tornadocash and etc
