Has anyone seen the movie "No more Bets" on netflix? Its a 2hrs movie about deceptions of different people who got lured for a high paying jobs they applied too and later on found out that their gonna be use on online scams on gambling site and even market trading and ponzi scheme.



Its somehow reminded me on how Pogo (Philippines offshore Gaming Operators) works on the PH and how some syndicate got caught in it.

At the end of the movie there were clips of the interviewed of some of the victims means this kind of modus happening in real world.

Whats your point of view on this?

It is normal, the scammers have advanced so much in their techniques as they have to keep up with newest trends too. In the end it is the sole responsibility of the people hired to do their own research for a company they go to work for. Also in the first days of work if they notice such things which point out to ponzi schemes they make a whole lot more money if they sue the company to the government and this is how you limit the number of jobs that rely on scamming others. People should be educated enough to identify if they are being used in such scams and take action like the one I pointed above.

The film is a reminder that there is nothing good about offshore gambling. It is filled with the vilest humans to ever walk on the earth and they do not play by the rules. It is their rules only. From the programmer to the model and the gambler shows a clear dipiction of the reality of illegal gambling rings. In the movie even though Chinese authorities carried out an investigation to shut down the gambling ring, I don't think they were successful. And even in real life once they know that the authorities have their eyes on them, they will simply pack up and move to a new location to continue their illegal gambling operations.

Many desperate people can fall into the clutches of such scammers; they do not care about your problems; they only want you to play without stopping. I have not watched this film, but I found an excellent opinion about the film, which warns players against scammers and calls for being careful with those who invite you somewhere to earn money. Our emotions are sometimes very clearly visible to those looking for people who can be in different desperate situations, and it is at these moments that we become very vulnerable. I will find time to watch this two-hour film, and although there are many tough scenes, I think the film is well suited for family viewing and educational purposes.

Well it isn't anything odd, especially in the Pogo case where it's almost certain that the rich are just scamming the poor lol. There's the I guess "legal" way by business, which is slow but steady, but then there's the illegal way which is what I'd consider what OP is discussing about. And it's not even a case of stopping them once means stopping it for good because these illegal businesses are also part of the corrupt system so they're basically almost always guaranteed to make a comeback at some point. Pretty sure it being a film and yet still happening is proof enough of that.

Yeah the part where they couldnt caught the boss of the known Leader in the movie happened to be same in real life the big bosses never get caught. So I assume this will continue since the higher leader still on the loose.

I will find time to watch this two-hour film, and although there are many tough scenes, I think the film is well suited for family viewing and educational purposes.

Yeah watched it mate, its not bad a lot of epic scenes which for me is quite shocking didnt know its happening in real life.

Pretty sure it being a film and yet still happening is proof enough of that.

I just see that movie in my Netflix but I am not yet watch the movie. When I see the title, I think that could be a movie about gambling.

People will get lure by some people who works to finds a target. And scammers will use many ways to tricks people to follow what they wants. That is why one illegal business can related to many illegal businesses. Like on many movies where the owner run a gambling business but he also operate money laundering, human trafficking and else which he used them to works for his businesses without payment.

 a very famous situation of many asian victims now .. there is a hundreds if not thousand people in my country that suffering in this same faith .
