Bitmart update

The Bitmart phone app will not open and announce the update. It allows you to update from their server or Google Play. However, there is no latest 3.12.1 version on Google Play, it states that my app is up to date. Is it safe to download this application directly from them? The phone warns that it is not.

I saw what you mean here. On the app, you will see Playstore update which will take you to Playstore to do the update. But on Playstore, you will see version 3.10.0.

Under the Playstore link on the app is the update that you can download on your phone through a browser and update. Know that most sites do have updates before they put it on Playstore.

The best people that can answer your question are the exchange customer care. Contact them maybe through their live chat.

Pretty normal if you ask me.
Some Android phones does that when downloading apk outside of Playstore and most of those will warn you when side-loading apps.

The question is if you've tried to download the legit app.
But that's not something that you can verify since they do not provide pgp signatures alongside each download option
And didn't mention the developers who compiled the app who should've provided the signatures.

It's all about "trust" when it comes with custodial services. All you can do is to trust their website's server.

If you trust the development team, contact them via their Google Play email and confirm the required version. Contact them via the built-in chat at https://www.bitmart.com/en-US or the GBM Foundation Company email.

Since Bitmart is a centralized exchange that you are eventually going to 'trust' with your funds when you deposit, you might as well trust their server to download the legitimate app. Even if you were downloading from Playstore, you still wouldn't be 100% sure you are downloading the right application, except in this case you'd be updating an application that you've already installed previously and have been using. If a service isn't open source, you simply have to trust it without verifying yourself.

This is true. If I trust my money to them, I already trust their server

This is probably Google Play's update system not in sync with your app's store. I guess downloading the latest version directly from their official site solves it. As to safety, is Google Play safer than their official site? Not necessarily. Are updates available on Google Play safer than updates available on the official site? Not necessarily, either.

Or have you tried simple solutions like clearing cache or reinstalling the app? Or perhaps it's your Google Play itself that's not updated?

On my Google Play, I can see version 3.10.0 Updated on Aug. 13, 2025 on the same day you made this post. It probably means they pushed out the update notifications a little earlier before publishing the update in the Play store.

But the reviews I am seeing are not good, looking. I don't know if you are aware of the issues people are facing.

They need to improve their direct download page. At least provide a signature or allow the user to directly update through the app instead of waiting for Google to update their listing. Anyway, it's been so long since I used them. Surprised to see they're still active. My government seems to have blocked their service, though, probably because they don't register any local office here.

Seem to be device-specific.
I'm seeing "v3.12.1" on both of my Android phones while in the website version, it's still showing "v3.10.0" while sharing the same date of update.

But the reviews I am seeing are not good, looking. I don't know if you are aware of the issues people are facing.

As to Bitmart, if you take a look at its reviews from a neutral standpoint--meaning, no devices--what you'll see is 1.3 stars average out of more than 50,000 reviews. It's worth noting that out of the 20 reviews at the top, Bitmart got 18 one-star reviews. Those are phone reviews.

They fare better in Tablet reviews. They got 3.6 on average out of just hundreds of reviews, and 6 non-single star reviews out of the top 20.

Not all reviews are based solely on the type of device. Many users leave reviews based on their experience with the Bitmart platform itself or with its customer support service.  If you take a look at Trustpilot, you'll find that the exchange has a TrustScore of 3.1, which it’s not perfect, but quite common among most centralized exchanges.

As for the Bitmart app on the Google Play Store,, it's now updated to the latest version, and it's always best to download apps from trusted official stores like Google Play or the App Store. Downloading mobile apps from third party sources often carries big risks. Especially Apps (exchanges, financial services, payment services, wallets) should be downloaded exclusively from the store or official website, otherwise they may contain phishing malware.

Most exchanges provide a direct download link from the exchange's official website or a link to Google Play or the App Store via QR scanning. Therefore, should only download apps from official links.
