It's a mutual experience which about up to 95% of members in the forum can share in about how they also missed it, not taking it seriously years back when they first heard about it. So to me, it's out of place to worry about yesterday's decision but forge forward on how to make the best of it (btc) today against the future so we don't have to share such stories about how paranoid or unfortunate we were today by not accumulating as much sats or bitcoins as we could have. Because in the next decade to come bitcoin price would surely double or even triple of what we see today.

Sorry about the missed opportunity. This is a common fear that many people had about Bitcoin then because it was new. There were some people who knew more about Bitcoin then, and there were others convincing them about Bitcoin, but they never accepted it because of their fear of it.

There’s no need to feel bad about your past because it is normal for anyone to approach Bitcoin based on how they feel due to ignorance. Sometimes we try to protect ourselves from rushing into things we know nothing about, and in the end, it is exactly what we think about it.

First, you say that you might have become extraordinarily wealthy if you had mined Bitcoin early on when it was worthless, and then you say that you never thought or expected it would become so popular. So my question is, how would you become extraordinarily wealthy by mining Bitcoin if you never expected it to become popular? Because you could only become wealthy if you could hold the coins you had mined back then, and with that belief, you would never hold your coins for long, and would probably sell them for pennies like everyone else at that time. Why do you think a guy bought 2 pizzas with 10,000 back in the day, which would have been worth more than $1.1B in the present? It was because he didn't know Bitcoin was going to reach where it is today.

Your story sounds too illogical to me, and that makes me think it's not real. You also mentioned about developing a payment gateway and claim that it's still being used but you never got any money from it, which is another illogical thing to say because you wouldn't create something and just give it away without getting any monetary benefits from it if you ever wanted to make money from it, and if you didn't have plans to make money from it, there is no need to mention that at all.

Let me just assume we're having communication barrier here Op otherwise, a lot would be questioned following your stories.
The developers you're talking about, I guess you're not referring to the anonymous Satoshi (bitcoin developer)?
Or I should say it's one of those failed prototype alike cryptocurrencies that only shared similar keys like the digital currencies but unlike the modern blockchains of today?
However, the key phrase here's that you feel "paranoid" because you didn't begin to acquire or accumulate bitcoin at the early time when it wasn't traded yet and later 2013 you got in, right? I'm right then you should be proud of the time you got into the space because it was on the bottom of $13 and a peak of $1,150 in the rally of 2013 and in an interval of 12 years comes this 2015 the market has spiked to $112,000 which if you who begin to own bitcoin in the past 12 years should be proud of yourself as the case maybe, bitcoin has been a 16 years old now which means the margin of 3 years space of when you weren't among the holders wasn't that much.

What would you say to some of us who came in not even up to 3 years now but we're proud getting on even those we feel we came late considering when we heard of bitcoin? How about, those who're recently coming in and those who're yet to come?

We cannot change our past. We do not have a time machine. What happened can not be changed. We can only reflect on it and move on.

I realized that in life you need to follow one simple rule. If you received a signal from a reliable source about some opportunity, then you need to take advantage of this opportunity. At the same time, you need to consider it simply as an experiment. Do not count too much on a positive result - it may not happen.

I also heard about Bitcoin relatively early - in 2014. I also did not believe that the first cryptocurrency was the future. Although at that time, Bitcoin cost a couple of hundred US dollars, I did not buy it. Now, remembering these events, I understand that I missed the chance to radically change my life.

However, I believe that such chances, although not so large-scale and magnificent, will still be in my life. You are right, you should not be afraid to take risks.

I heard about E-gold case but not followed the news many times. But I am not heard about Bitcoin at that year so I really missed the moment to mine Bitcoin in the early days. If that is about the government, many people will afraid and worry because the government can do many things to us, the citizen. That is normal if you became like that and doubt to involve in Bitcoin.

Other people will have the same feeling like you where they want to know more about Bitcoin. But in other side, they are afraid if their government know and will suspicious to them. Gladly, many government change their regulation about Bitcoin so many people can involve in Bitcoin and investing in Bitcoin.

I don't know what this is worth. OP speculates what could've been just because we had a nice new ATH recently or why does this pop up now? It's a recurring topic, it seems.

You could've mined in 2009 when Bitcoin was basically worthless. Some people did, you didn't. Would you have kept those coins when Bitcoin hit $10, later $100 or and even more later $1000 (symbolic price milestones, you likely get the message)? It feels like nonsense to talk or speculate about what if I had and kept coins until today, I'd be rich so easily. It's an excuse for you want the easy life route and didn't see the opportunity, you had your fears and missed it. So what?

You can't change the past, get over it. Learn from your mistakes, shape your life in the presence and opportunities of the future. Oh, and quite obviously, there are very ... very rarely opportunities to get rich quick without effort. If you want to hunt those, I promise you a miserable life experience.
