Where have all the new coin launches gone? I used to be able to come here and find new coins to spec mine, but I dont see many, if any new coin launches going on? What is happening?

Miners look to instant dump all, so no reason to make clone and stupid project where none will roi and more so devs making those scam will waste time and money

Many developers have problems because many users here seek to sabotage or plead, there are a lot of profiteers, no one wants to contribute anything just to get a small advantage in something, sometimes they suggest one or another project but it is very scarce, the community tends to think that everything is a scam, many promising projects appear sometimes, I myself tried several times and failed in several projects until one was adopted by a small number of people, who keep the project running.

They're probably not choosing to publish their announcement threads here anymore. Instead of going here and posting it for free, they have it on the websites like coinmarketcap and coingecko. They're not going to the market without any money anymore compared before where mostly it's crowd sourced and people that come from real investors. This time, it's coming from the interested investors that have no idea yet if it's a good idea to invest on them once they're launched in the market. There are no ICOs anymore and that's what they're doing to make their projects attractive to the others. But if it's the section you're looking for, it's either Announcements (Altcoins) or Tokens (Altcoins).

I think the main issue is the market’s just not in a good spot right now—crypto’s taken a beating, and the whole macroeconomy’s looking rough with inflation and all that. Most projects are probably holding off on launching new tokens until sentiment flips bullish again.

The new coins are not making up the trends base on the high volatility of the market. We can never have an idea about the next movement of the market, it can be bearish or bullish but for what its worth, we should be able to divert our chance to explore the market.

The market have been a broad space where new projects are launched and we have the investors ready to make a long competitive run for them but what's happening currently? Alot have changed and who take the blame for the dormant exits of these new project? We've no choice than simply becoming an edge over leaning on prominent projects, been able to make decisions that would be profitable for our own sake.

they don't choose this forum anymore because you know this is a bitcoin forum, and most people here are more pro bitcoin, compared to those altcoins. so maybe they choose another platform to get more audience, maybe to X (twitter) or other places. you can search for it yourself because i don't really know about this either.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. It feels like the buzz around new currency launches has drastically tapered down compared to the past. I believe part of it is because the market has matured a bit and people are more cautious now. There were so many frauds and rug pulls that a lot of devs might be holding off or focusing on building more solid products privately before launching  also with increased gas fees and harder competition it’s not as easy to just dump a new currency and expect it to take off but who knows maybe we’re just in a quiet moment and the next wave is forming behind the scenes

If you look around, there are still some coin launches, many of them without any appeal, more of the same, I would say. Most are memecoins, which try to take advantage of the hype of others that have achieved a certain “success”. Many coins without purpose! Some available for mining, but with no value and insignificant listings.

Visit your exchange and search for new coins, that is the most reliable source for identifying new coins, most of the time the coins that get published here are through bounty offerings which in most cases are not sought after lately, but that notwithstanding you can also make use of the announcement board bounty section and also your exchanges you likely will not miss out if your employ all the ways I mentioned.

Op is talking about mining new coins. And when it's speculative mining, that often means that people are mining them before they are even listed.
Imho the reason they aren't popular anymore, is because L2 alternative is more profitable for developers then PoW, as Developer having "premine" is pretty much standard.

With pow, you need lots of people mining to keep the chain safe. With tokens, someone else is already securing the chain. Also i am pretty sure that PoS has taken over PoW in the L1 coins.

Coin Mining is no longer much of a big deal in 2025. I think it used to be huge years ago even master node but these days, if you want to get involved in those sort of things, you have to sign up to become a Validator on some of the promising chains. The era of just mining random coin spec on the forum and insta dumping it appears to be over because there needs to be someone at the other end of the trade and new chains is where such opportunities are.

Sounds like if I still want to spec mine new projects, I’ll have to dig into Discords, Twitter, and watch GitHub for real PoW launches instead of just relying on BitcoinTalk announcements like before.

Appreciate all the insight. Hopefully another good wave of fair launches comes soon!

coinranking is also another platform that post any newly launched coins, coingecko also post newly launched, cryptoslate does same too.
You can also use coinlaunch to track some ICOs.

If there's any specific coins you are looking for, you can check those platform. So many scam projects has probably made some reputable bounty managers not to bring random project on the forum except they are sure about the project. So, that's probably why you don't see so many ANN thread as before.

Most new projects launch as PoS tokens, so truly mineable PoW coins are rare. Mining is dominated by major networks, making fresh PoW launches uncommon. To spot the few that do appear:

ASIC Miner Value (asicminervalue.com) for ASIC‐profitable coins and earnings.

CoinGecko / CoinMarketCap: filter by “Mineable” and sort by “Recently Added.”
