Subject: Help Identifying Lost BTC from MyBitcoin.com (2010–2011 Poker/Arcade Game)

Hi all,

I’m hoping someone here might be able to help or point me in the right direction.

Around 2010 or 2011, I signed up to an online arcade or poker machine-style game that used Bitcoin. I had never used Bitcoin before and only spent around $1 to buy 100 BTC to play the game. I believe I ended up with around 30 BTC remaining.

The game was short-lived and disappeared quite quickly. I also remember using a web wallet at MyBitcoin.com, which rings a strong bell. I wasn’t really familiar with how wallets worked at the time, and when the site disappeared, I assumed I’d just lost my $1.

Now that I’ve come to understand the value of Bitcoin, I’ve tried to retrace my steps. I still remember the email address I used and what was likely my password at the time.

Does anyone remember:

A Bitcoin-based game or slot machine arcade site linked to or relying on MyBitcoin.com?

How the MyBitcoin refund process worked, or if there’s any way of verifying balances now?

Any way of contacting former admins or community members who handled the receivership?

I’ve checked my email archives but found nothing solid yet. I’m happy to provide more detail privately if anyone has advice or can verify old user data.

Thanks in advance for any help, David (Australia)

Even if you will ever able to access to the site, ita a real remote theory that you can still find some satoshi inside.
Actually you dont know even if they have Still a database of previous users. Hence this Is not an entity that has some regulations, ToS or whatever..
Also, how you can prove you are the real original owner?
Well, if I was in your situation I Will ask support to a lawyer expert in this matters. But however It could be just a waste of time since you havent nothing to prove your claim, or even you dont know if they have any legal obligation to bring back some coins

That's possible, the site may have killed that account by obliterating or wiping off anything left in it or they find a way of denying user access to opening it even when they've the right password to it

Quote
Also, how you can prove you are the real original owner?
That would be by supplying the same email address OP used since they said there was an email used at the time. Except there's something else used then. I'm not sure there was any other form of identity like ID and facial verification then. That era was when privacy was at its top priority.

For the most part, it's pretty difficult to recover bitcoins from defunct crypto services, and platforms from such time frame are mostly defunct now.

MyBitcoin.com shortly shut down after 51% of their holdings were hacked. It goes without saying that the claims for left over funds were long over. I don't think you'll get your money back with them, op. See: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MyBitcoin

PS - be careful of scam emails you'll receive in the email you posted—it's pretty likely you'll get them.

There have been lots of threads about the services over the years but no success. I guess you are out of luck. Check for yourself: https://ninjastic.space/search?title=Mybitcoin.com%20-re%3A
I don't think you will even ever recover a satoshi since the service is completely defunct and the domain has even been taken up by a new service

The website is still alive in 2025 but I'd like to give more information about it.

The domain name probably went on sale after the old website became inactive and the allocated time expired. Someone else then bought it.

Perhaps only if you were provided with a private key, similarly to how BitGo operates you'd have a chance to recover your lost coins. It's a huge shame because we're talking for an enormous amount of money in today's values, but it's too late. I'm not familiar with MyBitcoin, but they've probably liquidated your coins a long time now. I had a similar experience with the Xapo wallet, where I attempted to access my old account, went through hell and back to access it because it required access to a phone number I no longer had, completed a KYC process only to be blocked immidiately after, with no excuse.

Of course, there wasn't any balance left on my account, even though I was certain there was an available balance when I stopped using their services. It was wiped out.

At least you get to say that you at one time had 100 BTC!!! That alone is pretty cool but you sure did lose it fast haha jk. How were you supposed to know that bitcoin was going to be the largest and fastest growing asset we've ever seen
