Do you have any tips or tricks to get your metabolism going, losing weight, gaining muscle mass or boosting brain function?
I have two tips I can share:
For losing weight it could help if you water fast for 2 - 3 days. When you resume with normal meals you should cut out all carbohydrates, sugars and salts. You will lose your excess fat steadily, if you consume foods rich in potassium, protein and fat from hereon out!
For boosting brain function it helps to stay away from quick consumable media. Sometimes it helps to realise that our brains have been rewired for short attention spans due to social media posts, tis toks, instagram, YouTube shorts and the like. Our brain's neurological pathways have been physically altered and our brains have now got a much harder time focusing, concentrating and remembering. Instead of browsing content that has been served up by "the algorithm", I recommend to read some books instead. This will restore neural pathways in the brain! A really nice first book to read is "How the Internet Is Changing the Way We Think, Read and Remember" by Nicholas Carr.
These are my 2 Health Life Hack tips.
What are yours? Do you have any health life hacks?

Interesting points. Below are mine opinion in brief:
• Taking a walk daily and engaging in strength training can help for metabolism and to control weight. Weight lifting helps the muscles stay intact, thereby raising you metabolism, while walking help check fat gain without getting burn out.
• Have a plan on adding on the weight you carry progressively, endeavor to eat more protein and don't neglect your sleep time as it is important too if you want to gain muscle.
• Engage in regular cardio workout like jogging or cycling it improves focus and memory and try as much as possible to write down journals or note taking by hand, it sharpens recall, these are for the brain functions.

Just eat organic/natural. It's easier for the body to metabolize organic foods and the fats it stores so that you don't gain too much weight regardless of "how much you eat", and you also burn the stored fat easily. Your brain could be seen as a lamp or car engine, it needs good quality fuel to produce bright, gentle and consistently burning light. As for the brain as car engine, you need to oil it too for similar result: frictionaless, more efficient and effective running engine.
Also remember to always balance the foods so that the body doesn't lack in most of the tools it needs to function properly

Well for me I do like to go on my daily walks after I have my dinner. And on the weekends when I have alot of time I will take my bicycle out with my nephews.
I do eat alot of fast food I wish I did not eat so much. I do try to eat more healthy and organic but it can be hard to find this kind of food where I live. And if they do sell it well it is usually alot more money.

Japanese water therapy involves drinking several glasses of room-temperature water upon waking, which is believed to help with hydration, digestion, and potentially weight loss. However, while it may offer some health benefits, many claims about its effectiveness for serious conditions are not scientifically supported.
I've practiced this for more than 6 months now.
It might help to some degree.

Nice thread.
A few that work for me (kept simple, repeatable): Sleep first, same bedtime/wake time + 5-10 min morning daylight. Everything else gets easier. Fat, Protein & plants, ~25-30 g protein each meal + aim ~30 g fiber/day (beans, veg, oats). Do not to eat sugar at all. Exercise regularly.
Honestly these are the most important "life hacks" you can do that will have the most impact

I don't have any specific hacks, but! I try not to eat too much. If I'm very hungry, I always want to eat a lot. So I eat a usual amount of food, and then I take a pause to see if it's enough. Usually in a few minutes I start to feel that I'm not hungry anymore, and that I had emotional hunger. And I try to eat vegetables and fruits every day, even somethign little

The most important thing I think here is that if we want to lose weight, we have to avoid carbohydrate foods. I think this will help a lot.

dont do grocery shopping when hungry. or you'll end up with more quick, lazy, junk food in your cart/trolley
meat and multiple veg mixed meals should be the choice every time. and no a mixed grill(meat only) does not count
hold yourself accountable in the moment of thinking about food. if you know food X contains Y calories meaning Z minutes of running later to burn it off think about something that is less Y so you dont need to do all Z minutes later dont allow yourself to decide you crave Y++ but cant be bothered to do even just Z. find the right balance of less Y
dont go with your first thought/craving if a bigmac meal costs $10 each or $30 for 3 people. think about what else you can make/buy for $10-$30 to feed self or family if your craving/urge that evening is for KFC. just think of something close but not the same. something healthier. like grilled chicken with some spicy/tangy sauce
what comes in must come out.. most people think all fluids and waste must be burned or sweated out. but its also what you excrete from bowels and bladder. ensure your toilet needs are regular, more so than just your sweat glands

most people think all fluids and waste must be burned or sweated out.
This right here! Many people wrongly assume that consumed calories must be "burned" in order to lose weight. Gym cardio machines have large screens that focus on the calories burned. Many experts including doctors always emphasise that in order for weight loss to occur you must burn more calories than you consume. The weight watchers program focuses on counting calories of everything you consume. Many motivational speakers focus on working out to burn calories. All of this contributes to the common misconception that working out somehow burns fat! It absolutely doesn't! Working out increases muscle mass and that is it. 85% of fat is lost through exhaling!! 15% is lost through urine and only 5% is lost through sweat. The mental image that people have that we need to sweat more to lose more weight is wrong, but you can't make any money telling people to breathe more. Weight loss is thus a chemical process that can be triggered by a falling insulin level. In summary: It isn't about consuming less calories than you use. It is about consuming the right types of foods.

Do you have any tips or tricks to get your metabolism going, losing weight, gaining muscle mass or boosting brain function?
Boosting brain function: HIIT. High intensity interval training. Engaging in regular exercise is linked to multiple health benefits, including maintaining cognitive abilities and perhaps reducing the risk of dementia.
Results from a study published online July 8, 2024, by Aging and Disease suggest high-intensity interval training (HIIT) may be better for brain health than other, less vigorous routines. HIIT workouts consist of repeated cycles of short bursts of high-intensity exercise followed by brief "recovery" periods of lower-intensity movement. https://www.health.harvard.edu/exercise-and-fitness/cognitive-benefits-from-high-intensity-interval-training-may-last-for-yearsGaining muscle mass: consuming food items with high protein bioavailability. Keyword search can find some of these. Etc. etc.

'weight' is a bad target/goal thing to aim for.. each body is unique height, bone density and muscle mass may have a vast difference of 'healthy weight' target
a chubby person could be same weight as a muscly person a tall anorexic person could have same weight as a short morbidly obese person
the most basic aim is to not have the 'beer belly' 'pinch an inch' 'thick skin'
most belly fat can be related to sugars. that are stored near the organs for more quick/ready access energy so less refined/added sugar stuff, less fermented sugars less soda (less alcohol/soda/snacks) can reduce the 'visceral fat' around the organs
when doing exercises the muscles try to use the nearby energy in nearby cells so for targeted fat. if you have: chubby legs do leg exercises. flabby arms do arm exercises. belly fat, do abdominal exercises
but the most important thing is still what goes in must come out
so its not just watching what you eat but also regulating your toilet use to ensure your body doesnt retain fluids/waste

One of the things that no one has yet addressed is supplements. Personally I prefer eating a whole grilled chicken to taking protein powder for instance.
But I am sure there are excellent use cases for supplements too. Are there any amazing life hacks in that regard?

Good tips man, especially the one about avoiding shortform content. A lot of people don’t realize how much TikTok/shorts fry the brain over time.
For me, here are a couple of things I usually do,
1. Losing weight: I stick to short intense workouts. Even 15 mins of pushups, squats, or sprints does more for me than jogging for an hour. It keeps the metabolism alive.
2. Building muscle: I just try to lift a little heavier or do more reps each week. Nothing fancy, just consistency.
3. Brain boost: Honestly, sleep is the biggest hack. If I don’t sleep well, I am useless. I also set aside some quiet time with no phone, no noise, just focusing on one thing , it really helps clear the head.

Drink distilled water. It's pure water from steam, and good for you.
Don't listen to those that say you don't get proper minerals from distilled water. You get plenty of minerals from food and sea salt.
