The USA govt seized 7.5 million illicit crypto accounts from Nigeria and Russia.

According to the news, the fraudster scams his victims by requesting them to send money to "false escrow entities" that their fund will use to invest into the oil and gas industry.

Assets include a Binance account, 19 BTC, 39 ETC, and over 156 TRX.

According to the news, fake accounts were opened by scammers that include different institutions.

This scam of a thing is becoming alarming and is ruining our nation. Although, it includes a fraudster from Russia too. My own concern is my nation. It is damaging our noble country's image internationally. It is unfair. Can Nigerians be trusted internationally as they used to be in the 80s anymore?

Well unfortunately this is the sad reality that we have to face as Nigerians as the rate of scam that is committed by Nigeria both online and offline is alarming to the point that many people are even afraid of letting their identity known to others as Nigerians in the international stage and even online because immediately when you do that you are seen as having a criminal minded, even though that is not true but the fact is that we are forgetting the there is a direct link between scamming and the bad economic situation that we are having in the country

Nigeria's are never like this the bad government and high cost of living has made a lot of people to go into online scam in other to survive, I know some people will say is still not an excuse for someone to get involved in online scam, yes is not but there are some situations one will find his or her self you will have no other option but to do what ever you can to survive.
In Nigeria there are 237.5 million people and the government is only making provision for 40 to 50 million people, there are a lot of people that has graduated for 5 to 10 years and and they are unable to secure a job and there's no hope for them to do so because there's no space in companies and government, and again those once who are interested in farming since there's no white collar job can't even go to farm because of high level of insecurity, farmers are always been attacked and killed and the government is not doing anything about it, in this case if you go to farm you may not come back and no white collar job for you to work, remember you can't start up a business without finance, some of them end doing a job of 30k to 50k a month a family man with this high cost of living where the money can't even afford you food for 2 to 3 weeks, you have not talked about your children school fees, nepa Bill, house rent for those in city and remember sickness is something one can't avoid, so tell me will 30k to 50k be enough.
We are going through a lot in this country people are suffering, the other day I saw a child and he told me hungry is almost kill him I had to buy food for him.

This thing way them dey call Yahoo na bad thing but na watin people dey use see food chop na watin even they make money circulate small for the country, our politicians Don store huge amount of money for many places way make money no dey circulate well.
Yes bad thing na bad thing but a  hungry man is an angry man

This scam of a thing is becoming alarming and is ruining our nation. Although, it includes a fraudster from Russia too. My own concern is my nation. Becoming alarming? It's been like that for decades. Back in the day, you wouldn't be able to make ANY cross-border payments because then, there was no bitcoin and payment processors like PayPal intentionally blocked off Africans including Nigerians from receiving payments for that very reason. Bitcoin came in and solve that problem but while bitcoin is a net-positive technology to any economy, it can also be used for bad. It opened to flood gates to this scammers and it's not easy as ever especially if you can do it under the radar (aka scam to reported to authorities and traced back to scammer).

We can only continue to use Bitcoin for good and hope that others do the same.

We have to courage the increasing stigma towards Nigerians, particularly with the many fraud cases tying our country. I comprehend the hardship of watching the image of our nation deteriorate further as result of the devastating behavior of a few people. Nevertheless, to cause such critical and fast reactions, as well, we should admit that the economic disaster has tightened the belt of the people who wanted to make a fast solution. But we should not forget about all the Nigerians being involved in these evil activities. It is high time we started finding ways towards solving the problems of making the economy better and building an image of this country. It is not going to be simple, but as we are at the beginning of it, we can start by example.

This is scamming issue in Nigeria is becoming something else. It's so unbearable and condemnable and it's tarnishing the image of Nigeria across the world to the extend that everyone sees all Nigerian as scammers.
I really feel bad about the black image that scammers have painted the country.

As long as both countries remained the Frontline runners in cryptocurrency transactions volumes, you most be rest assured that there will definitely be high volumes of illicit inflow and outflow of cryptocurrency in the the system, so that amount for me is even smaller to what I expected to be the total seized assets from bad actors in the Nigeria cryptocurrency space, considering the rate of scam and fake investments Ponzi that cryptocurrency is used to commit within Nigeria this day's.

Well, it's good that they recovered the money and it will make more sense if they can also return the money to the victims that were scammed. I really do feel pity for people where I hear that they were scammed of a huge amount like that because I know how I felt when I was scammed of about $50-$100 online, I really wished I could get justice but I couldn't, the money I lost was small compare to $7.5 million, so let's imagine how the victims will feel.

Nigeria is not the only country where scamming is becoming rampant, there are many other countries that scam people rapidly but the only reason why that of Nigeria is always being talked about is because those scammers don't have sense. I don't scam people and can never do that but for those who are into scamming, they should be intelligent enough to scam without traces but they are not always professional in that aspect, all they care about is how to scam. Anyways, Nigeria has bad records of scams, even the scam that was done to Donald Trump is even enough to see Nigeria as a red flag so it is what it is. However, if the country was to be in good shape i think nobody will be going to foreign countries to look for greener pastures so it's just unfortunate that the government has failed, hence the reason why more people are seeing scamming as the only option and way out.
