I have not experienced a strong gambling addiction myself, but I have read many interesting stories about people who seemed to split into two personalities. One of them was a lying gambler who hated himself because of his addiction, and the other personality was that everyday person who was always with his close family and at work.
And often former gamblers who were able to recover from their addiction and started working, paying off all their debts. They say that it is still impossible to get rid of it completely, and they seem to carry it inside, afraid of triggers.

for me I don't have any reason for gambling I only gamble for fun and for entertainment and with the money I can afford to lose and not the other way round. And I don't intend making money through gambling and I only gamble for fun and nothing more than that.

Hahaha, yes, I agree with your opinion that many addicted gamblers hide behind wise words, suggesting to others that gambling should be done for entertainment or pleasure, when in fact, they themselves come to win. For me, as long as it doesn't harm me, I don't have a problem with it.
Honestly, I'm not currently addicted. Sometimes I only play three times a week, and even then, I use 3-5% of my total monthly income. But honestly, two years ago, I was addicted. My addiction was so severe, I even played slots while driving. That was very dangerous and very high risk.

So, I could say that I had a chronic addiction before, which led to financial problems such as debt. But from there, I started to realize that if I didn't fix everything soon, my life would be ruined. I started trying to increase my activities to reduce my attraction to gambling, and yes, I finally succeeded. Now I only gamble when I have money I can afford to lose. I feel much calmer.

I like the kind of concern or observation you just raised now. If you scroll down to the board, and beyond, you will find many articles and threads created that address issue of gambling and addiction but only a few people will actually come out to confirm if they are an addict or not. Plus, if you are an addict, how did you realise you are one, meaning how does someone gets to know the rank at which they officially become an addict. If it due to the frequency of gambling or the volume of losses recorded or the different varieties of gambling participated in or what other factors categorises an individual with the name tag of a 'Gambling Addict'? I guess many people need to start coming out to speak of their individual addictions experience while we all work more on the solutions based on perculiarity. I think one needs to create an open thread where members here identify whether their addicts and their own experiences.

As a gambler, I completely agree with you. It’s not that they’re unaware, of course they are. It’s just that they don’t want to admit it, or they choose to ignore it. They know things won’t favor them most of the time, yet they still push on. Part of it is because gamblers are persistent. They cling to the small chance they have, hoping that one day they’ll recover and win big. No matter how small the chances are, it doesn’t bother them, as long as there’s a chance.

I'm seeing 2 reasons as to why nobody's saying that they're addicted into gambling.
1. They're shy to say it here because... because they're shy, and they don't just don't want to say it here.
2. There are some who are already addicted, but in their minds, they believe that they aren't addicted. They aren't aware that they're addicted.

I will go with the 2nd one because I've seen many stories both on Reddit and Facebook where at first, they're denying that they're addicted to gambling, but their actions, the money that they're spending, and the amount of time they're allotting towards going to gamble shows that they are. I don't know why there are some gamblers out there that are in denial when it comes to if they're addicted or not. Maybe they're shy, or just unaware at all.

Well, I will not ask if there's somebody here that already confessed it here, but we know ourselves. We aren't young kiddos anymore, and we know if we're addicted to gambling or not.
