Hello everyone,

I would like to ask for your help.

When I first started out, I installed Electrum as my first wallet and had a small amount of BTC sent to it.

After two days, I sent the amount to an address that I no longer remember.

Now it is still under the status partially signed (1/2).
http://[IMG]https://bitcointalk.org/leer.gif[/img]

It looks like this (unfortunately i dont have the rank to post pictures).
Under the transactions (date) i have the following as outcome: `Local [rbf, 103.6 sat/b] and then the minus amount.

Does that mean I sent it somewhere locally? Is there a possibility that I can get the money back to the original Electrum wallet by “canceling” it? It shows me the balance, but it is unconfirmed and if i want to send it somewhere else on sent i have 0 balance.

I read something about an increase in fees, but under Outgoing payments, the status says paid.

Now I'm stuck and have no idea what to do.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

No, you can't get your money back unless you also control the private keys of the destination address but from your telling I can guess that that's not the case since you don't remember anything about the outgoing transaction. Seems like you were either hacked because of your poor online security habits (could be running an old version or malicious wallet software, trojan, pirated software, malicious browser plugins...) or you spent it on something which you don't remember (for now at least) Either way bitcoin transactions are final when there is at least 1 confirmation on the blockchain. Nothing you'll do can reverse a bitcoin transaction.

If that was a local transaction in your wallet, your balance wouldn't show 0.

If the transaction is still in "unconfirmed" status, and it is a RBF enabled one, you can pay a higher fee and redirect the funds to a new destination address but you have very limited time to pull that off.

**btw i didn't click on the link you provided because of security reasons sorry about that**

Local means the electrum server you are connected to has no knowledge of this transaction. Other servers might have heard of this transaction though so it might still be out there. But for now you can  go ahead and right click on it and delete it. That should cause your balance to update.

The image is not valid. I mean it is shown as invalid image.

If a transaction is partially signed, the partially signed transaction will appear under send tap and not appear under transaction history as local transaction.

Local transaction can be deleted so that the transaction can appear on your balance again.

I reuploaded the image to talkimg, in case anyone is interested in taking a look at it:

The transaction dates back to 2021. May I ask why you decided to ask about it now?
Anyways, do you remember how you created your wallet? Because it looks like you have a 2of2 multisig wallet. Therefore, you need the other cosigner’s signature to be able to finalize the transaction and broadcast it to the network.

You can delete it as the above members suggested to get your balance updated, but even then, you won’t be able to move your coins without the signature of the other cosigner.

Could you right-click on that transaction and open its details?  It should give us more information.  If you take a screenshot and post it here, we might be able to figure this out.  Feel free to censor any sensitive details like the amounts or destination addresses.

I Just make the image bigger.

2021 transaction. There are two possible scenarios that I'm thinking about. First, the PC BIOS is already dead; it can't hold the most recent time because it always reset, and you can't connect to the internet if your time is not properly set. That is why the transaction he made from Electrum ended up being created locally.

The 2nd possible scenario is that he made this transaction 4 years ago, but on this day, when he tried to check his wallet again after many years, he noticed there's a local transaction that made him think to check the address online, and he confirmed that the transaction wasn't sent to another wallet address.
In this case it was a signed transaction and was waiting to broadcast. The only problem is he might be using an old version of Electrum; based on the transaction date and year, no Electrum servers are connected to the old version.

Now it is still under the status partially signed (1/2).
It it perhaps a 2FA wallet?
You can check Electrum's Title Bar for the wallet type next to your wallet's name, a 2fa wallet displays "[2fa]".

That's because on a 2fa wallet, if you input the wrong 2fa code from your authenticator app,
Electrum will still sign the transaction (thus, the status partially signed 1/2)
But since it's a 2-of-3 MultiSig, it will not be available for broadcast, it will be saved to your history if you clicked "save to history" instead in the transaction's Advanced Preview.

In this case, you have three options:
 • 1. Restore using your seed phrase and disable 2fa
 • 2. Find your Authenticator App or its backup or
 • 3. Contact "Trusted Coin" (FAQ in Electrum 2fa plugin's manifest) using the email that you've used to setup your wallet.

In case it's a 2-of-m MultiSig wallet like they mentioned (which should also be visible in the title bar).
All you can do it to find the cosigner which should be another wallet where you got the master public key in your wallet's second+ keystore (Menu: Wallet->Information).
