I hope my time is not wasted all this while.

I have been mining Ethereum for the past many years and after they switch to proof of stake I had to keep mining ETC as a substitute, since nothing is profitable anymore for GPU mining, it was tough for me because I kept mining and exchanging all my ETC to ETH, it's been four years so far now.

Today I have good numbers or ETH, but profit wise it is not much, my curiosity is why ETH is still at 3,500 today, for my years of hardwork to not go to waste ETH needs to reach 5,000, my graphics cards health is a story for another time as few of them gave up the ghost, including the one that I soldered some missing diodes back on in 2022? I guess no one will remember that anyways.

Altcoin miners, what coins are you guys mining right now? A part of me still hope that Ethereum mining is still a thing, I don't want to regret spending so much on graphic card, now I will need to upgrade to newer cards to continue mining, but I might reconsider if Ethereum makes a new all time high sooner.

Here is just a simple question I would like to ask you, just do some small mathematics with yourself and you will come to a conclusion

Assuming you had just bought ETH directly using that money, stored it in a cold wallet and as of today's price, how much in profits would you be?
Assuming you had done some DCA on that money you spent on power bills and maintenance over that time, how much in profit would you be?

Now compare that to the pain, time, and resources you have used so far while mining. Is it still worth buying more GPUs?
