The thought just came to my head this, I actually laughed about it coz I thought no job would pay with btc and concluded it was a silly thought, but then I decided to do a little research about it and lo and behold, I found out that there are actually jobs that pays with btc to employees.

1. Coinbase: A s a Coinbase staff, you have the option of receiving your pay with btc, part of Coinbase’s commitment to advancing crypto adoption.
2. MicroStrategy: offers employees Bitcoin salary options too

There are many other I found, read here https://cryptopedal.com/post/list-of-companies-that-pay-in-bitcoin

Also found Bitwage, a Bitcoin and crypto payroll platform that serves over 4500 businesses to pay employee salaries in Bitcoin and stablecoins.

Read about it here; https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/4500-companies-now-pay-their-employees-bitcoin-using-bitwage

Then finally found a freelancing platform that connects freelancers to jobs that pays with btc, called ''workingforbitcoin'', not it is active though\.

I'm curious though, does anyone know any job/company that pays with btc?
How true are the ones I mentioned above and the other ones in the quoted links, can anyone confirm it?
Has anyone here ever did a job and got paid with btc?
Would you be interested in working a job that pays with btc?

Finally, If there are really jobs paying with btc,is it a good move for btc adoption or not?

It's certainly possible to get paid in and work for bitcoin and other cryptos. A lot of companies that say they can do it mostly use it as a marketing strategy. Most of them that'll offer to pay that way are crypto firms and I'm not sure if they'll try to take a cut for doing it.

I imagine they let you take proportions as crypto and fiat because otherwise the conversion fees get quite hefty if you're paid exclusively in Bitcoin/other cryptos (unless you don't need the money for a while).

Yes of course, there are jobs that pay with BTC strictly or as you prefer and these companies include Blockstream and BitGo, as well as other freelance jobs like LaborX, Ethlance, Upwork, other crypto and web3 developer jobs, blockchain developers and Engineers, Product Managers, Marketers, Analysts, Remote contractors or consultants, all can receive payments for jobs in BTC and you must remember the tax returns to the government because they are watching, hence the regulations.

It is good to be Bitcoin and cryptocurrency educated inorder to know how to receive payments and how to source for jobs that make payments in cryptocurrency, because the evolution of currency is happening and as newer innovations arise, and reserve banks in addition, just to cater for the rising need of cryptocurrency, it is imperative to be smart and well positioned for maximum benefits.

All the services offered on this forum utilize Bitcoin payments, and are largely casino marketing.

Quote
Has anyone here ever did a job and got paid with btc?
Last month, I took a job outside the forum for BTC. This type of job is generally remoteand trust-based, and has no specific laws governing it. Just being interested doesn't guarantee you'll get the pay/work result you expect; you need to be aware of the reputation of the person you're dealing with.

Finally, If there are really jobs paying with btc,is it a good move for btc adoption or not?

There are many websites and reddit communities which offer some services that pay with bitcoin or stablecoins.

Basically, anything you can do online you can receive bitcoin to do it.

But have you taken a look at the Services board here? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

It is really amazing. Signature campaigns (which pays a lot of bitcoins per week), reviews of casinos and other services, anti-phishing campaigns, testing new software such as wallets etc... all those little jobs get some bitcoin payment there. Take a look

I haven't seen any organisation that pays salary in Bitcoin but have only heard from the news or from the forum, the same as you mentioned on the thread. For me, though, I haven't done a job for Bitcoin payment, but I have sold my service for Bitcoin payment. Like, I have sold my press release service for Bitcoin, and I paid my vendor in stablecoins. Still, I have been selling my services for Bitcoin or any other crypto. Currently you can see we are doing a signature campaign; the salary has been paid in Bitcoin.

But to me it doesn't make sense to pay a salary in Bitcoin when evaluate the value in stablecoins or fiat. Though this considers Bitcoin adoption, it doesn't mean the receiver will hold that Bitcoin. Because whoever is getting the salary from the job means he needs that money for his family. Due to volatility, the receiver would lose the value of Bitcoin unless he held it. So he/she is obliged to sell his/her Bitcoin to cover the family expenses. So Bitcoin payment isn't very useful for him.

Imagine how much more complicated it would be to pay without Bitcoin.
Would signature campaigns as such appeal at all if there were only fiat payment?
Also, holding is not the most important thing in Bitcoin adoption, it's more about flow and transfer between different entities.

Due to volatility, the receiver would lose the value of Bitcoin unless he held it. So he/she is obliged to sell his/her Bitcoin to cover the family expenses. So Bitcoin payment isn't very useful for him.
Due to volatility, the value of the transaction is agreed in fiat, and Bitcoin is only used for easier transfer. Just as a user can lose by holding Bitcoin, they can also profit from its value increasing.

I already worked for a company that offered me the possibility of receiving payments in Bitcoins for a few years. But that was because I was very active and involved in the community I was active in, which was on FB.

I think the easiest way is to try to agree the payment method with your employer, nowadays it's easier to convince people that Bitcoin is a strong currency and more people are joining, sometimes your employer has BTC and you have no idea. Everything can be discussed.

Another way is to suggest payment in stablecoins.

I'm curious though, does anyone know any job/company that pays with btc?
Since El Salvador allowed Bitcoin as their legal tender, I would assume some part of its government also pays its employees in BTC.
Although I couldn't find any relevant or new information to support that. It is still highly possible that it's happening there. I would hope someone from El Salvador could confirm this.

Has anyone here ever did a job and got paid with btc?
Yes. From various startups and clients (if those count). Most prefer paying in stablecoins like USDT/USDC, but there are still a few who want to pay in BTC.

Would you be interested in working a job that pays with btc?
I'm sure pretty much everyone here in this forum would be interested.  Grin

Finally, If there are really jobs paying with btc,is it a good move for btc adoption or not?
It sure is, just look at El Salvador. They are now also encouraging companies within their borders to pay their employees with BTC. That alone is a massive positive move for BTC's adoption.

If they do that, I'd assume the government would happily push the story out as soon as possible. Sounds like a lost opportunity if they don't use this story to further support their agenda. Even if the government worker has an NDA clause, I don't think they will forbid them from talking at all. It doesn't make sense to hide this either, unless the contract benefit the government greatly at the cost of their workers well-being.

Since El Salvador allowed Bitcoin as their legal tender, I would assume some part of its government also pays its employees in BTC.
Although I couldn't find any relevant or new information to support that. It is still highly possible that it's happening there. I would hope someone from El Salvador could confirm this.
This is also I think of and want to know because I've seen videos from there that people can pay Bitcoin with their bills and they're happy about it because it gives them the ease that they need since the subject in the video was far from city. I think it's mostly the crypto companies that pay their employees with a bitcoin salary and they probably have a mining farm where they get it mostly or they have a business that generates bitcoins as well which is why they can sustain paying their employees with bitcoin. Of course it's different from the exchanges, they've got a lot of it.
