Teachers Should Know the Difference Between Correcting and Bullying a Student

What those teachers does is discipline i don't see it as bullying if children are not well discipline in school they can't learn fast when the child failed to do assignment or can't read after months of teaching a teacher can use cane on the student discipline such student that was how most of us learn then in school, even the Bible said spare the rod and spoil the child though i know there are few wicked teachers in schools.

Most case it's bullying, some teachers are not affectionate with students, many of them are cool with kids whose parents give them some tips occasionally and tough on those other students whose parents don't offer gift to the teacher. A lot of factors lead to why some students are rough handled in class by a teacher more than their peers. It's sometimes personal, or intentional to always punish a student over every little mistake, in the name of correcting him or her.

Students of this era are enjoying school compare to students in era past, school is a place of learning and this learning include both character and in knowledge this character is to differentiate those that went to school and those who has no opportunity for education. The senior has the right to guide the junior to behave well, not to intimidate them. When I see them bully the younger ones, it calls for deep attention because they are all student. The juniors are also loved in their home, so every one of them deserves equal respect in the school.

I totally agree with you that most students misunderstand corrections for bullying, and most students hate corrections. When they are wrong, they expect the teacher to correct them with respect and a soft tone. The truth is that no teacher will bully their students when things are done the right way, and if students think some teachers are bullies, it is better to do things the right way. No teacher has the right to disrespect a student, nor would they feel they are being bullied.

That is what every head of school should caution every senior student on because bullying fellow students could case a trouble in the school, naturally if those senior students is to be giving power it should be only those that was given positions to carryout in the school in making sure there is order, perhaps those are the ones who are supposed to enforce disciplined instead because they are bright students whom were selected because of there goodwill to the school so is assumed that they cannot bully anybody or use there power in odd way, but when all the senior ones have this opportunity is uncontrollable.

I mean, that is why teachers in my country have to go through some education and training before being able to apply on schools, so schools and universities can be sure those teachers know how to deal with students and any situation which could ensue in the classroom.
If a teacher ends up bullying a student, that teacher would be held into account and be suspended off their position in the school. If the incident is serious enough, that teacher could even get fired and lose their license to teach on the country.

When it comes to the issue of discipline in schools people have different lenses that they use to view it. For example when teachers are using cane on the students some see it as way to correct and it helped the kids to learn which I also agree with that because back then many of us learned through that kind of tough love and discipline like it is said in the Bible about sparing the rod, if a student does not carry out their assignments or can't read after plenty corrections and teaching, a good cane can push him to try harder and it used to work for some yet it has also been turned to bullying in some cases and instead of teachers to continue to show love to their students, some end with transferring their aggression to the children by bullying them in disguise in the name of training them.

Plenty students mix up correction with bullying because they don't like to be corrected especially when you go to private big men schools. They always prefer to see their teachers talking to them softly with respect even when they messed up but the truth is that if students do their work right like their assignments or when they behave well, no teacher will just bully them for nothing. And like you said, when students are nit doing the right thing and teachers get strict on them, the students call it bullying.

Correcting and bullying are  two different words  with different meanings but in application one can be misconcepted for other. While correcting is a good approach for knowledge bullying is embarking on a warfare. Teachers I think already know the difference between the two but application and factors around is the big issue. Environment, mindset,  disposition, habit and the level of knowledge  are factors that could lead to either correcting or bullying. A teacher who bully is not a good teacher.

You just reminded me of my days in primary school. One of my teachers never liked me and he was always punishing me. One day my father gave her a good gift. She became very nice and ensured that I took the first position in class. When my father saw the result he laughed since he knew my academic capacity. He knows that I don't have the intellectual capacity to top the class.

That's more reasons trained teachers should be employed at all times. A trained teacher would know the mood a child and the type of scolding at that particular time. An untrained teacher would even beat a child at his or her saddest moments. I have a kid that I know that wasn't able to recite English alphabet due to the way his teacher was beating him then in school. But a trained teacher just taught him for two days and he picked up. The whole issues lies on the type of teacher that a school employed. A trained teacher is better .

Even when a student misbehaves is the responsibility of the teacher to act like a parent and not a bully.

Prioritizing over gifts offered by a kid's ward is common amongst teachers even the head masters/mistress. Every teacher has a particular unique way of attracting with every student. The changes in terms of the few they don't like or want being attached to out of their look, behavior or performance in classes can only be effected through gifts. It works like a magic truly.
